I have a 2002 multipla 1.9jtd. On a ramp in local fiat dealer following broken gear linkage.
I'm told the gearbox is worn and history shows clutch cotrol arm welded into place!! I have bought new flywheel and fast road clutch with intention of ultimately chipping. However this doesnt solve gearbox. Does anyone know if I can fit another Fiat range gearbox (straight swap). Eg bravo/brava or stilo 5 0r 6 speed?? these seem to be easier to source and offer higher ratios for relaxed cruising. Someone out there must know. Cheers ( happy new year):bang:

I'd like to know too, my 1.6 ELX is working overtime at normal road speeds (normally I'm getting 20mph / 1000rpm) thers got to be a better ratio range available - I hope.

hi
I doubt whether the 'car' boxes would be anygood/fit,
the engine I think is the same/similar to vauxhall (1900 diesil)
may be worth a try looking at them.
there were a few boxes on ebay a while ago.
A member here is something to do with salvage, try enquiring.............
regards
