Hi,I was driving along yesterday and the coolent low light came on with the engine to hot light. On checking the Coolent the bottle was empty so I waited for the engine to cool and went a couple of miles to the nearest petrol station and topped up with water.
I would say it took at least a couple of litres to fill back up to the max mark, the strange thing is since topping up yesterday and doing another fifty ish miles it has not lost a drop.
I last checked the level on 1st Dec and it was spot on the max mark then, since then all we have done is went to Gatwick and parked the car there for just over three weeks and came home again which is approx three hundred miles from the last time I checked it to when it overheated.
Do you think the car sitting at the airport for three weeks in the freezing wheather could have caused the pipes to become rigid and allowed the coolent to leek?.I can't understand how it could lose so much and now seems to be not losing anything?
Thanks in advance for any help,The car is only one year old so can't see it being wear and tear yet with only 15k on the clock?
