Hi everyone, I'm planning to do my arb bushes and they seem so hard to come by at a reasonable price.
I've found these for another car, does anyone, who's replaced theirs, know if these are the same shape as the Multipla's

This should be interesting, polyurethane bushes tend to be an improvement over nitrile rubber ones in terms of stability and wear.

I believe the ARB is 18mm (taken from a previous thread) The shapes right but what are the external dimensions width/height/depth?

Ive previously come across this site, but a bit of cross referencing would be needed as they dont list Fiat.

I've contacted Superflex asking for the dimensions of the bush I've found on there so we'll see how that goes.
They also do a universal bush (and the dimensions are shown on their website for that one) so that may be a possibilty.
Anyone know the dimensions of the multipla bushes roughly? It'll save me crawling under the car ;)

the shape looks good as I fitted mine yesterday, I had a pig of a job finding the replacements, I ended up paying £40 off e bay ( i think this guy is buying in as orders come in as delivery was slow ) but at least they fitted and all is quiet over speed humps now. they do need an 18 mm centre. and I found you can do the job while still attached to the car. loosen the bolts a little then I found a large flat head screwdriver with a hammer will split the holder apart.be carefull when putting the bolts back in as they snap if overtightend.(y)

Cool, have you still got the old ones? We could take the measurements from those. A pic would be great also.
If we can get these dimensions, it'll save people loads of money as they'll only be about £15 a pair roughly!

Just removed this from a 51 multipla. Dont forget this is an old and worn bush so might be out a mil or so.
Hope it helps.
The depth is 38..

I reckon these "http://www.superflex.co.uk/antirollbarmounts.php" might work. With the right 18mm aperture and the set of clamps to suit of course. I presume Powerflex do similar.

So what's the latest on getting the Multi A-R Bar bushes as per the above dimensions ?

Will they be made from polyurethane ?

Thanks for posting this, I'll email it off and see what their reply is. Keep your fingers crossed everyone :D

Group buy? poss link it with marea forum buy if it could be done , i can only assume they would require a "new" bush to replicate them and happy owners we would be.

Do do you have an ARB bracket at hand to check the screw centres?

If they are between 63-75mm or there-abouts these universal bushes from "http://www.superflex.co.uk/antirollbarmounts.php" should work.

Certainly better than the noisy buggers I've got!

Hey peat here ya go..I think they are ninty plus they are curved and angled..

Thanks for that RaineUK. Good photo.

Your post has reminded me that the Multi bracket is shaped such that the bush sits higher than the cross-member. It is also has it's centre off-set.
FIAT has made it nigh impossible to replicate the bracket with any ease, but I cant see that the angle will matter but the off-set makes it difficult to use the Powerflex bracket without adding an extention to one end to get the off-set correct. Although I think that may not be necessary, it will just mean that the drop links are not working in the absolute vertical. What do you think?

If you can email me the photos of the brackets and bush I will get onto Powerflex and see if it's possible to accommodate their bracket for the Multi. Peat at usa dot com

Why not re use the fiat bracket? im sure if enough orders come in then powerflex or superflex would make a bush to suit and then add to their list especially as fiat dont supply this seperate.

I dont think that brackets is the way to go. With that company if they have enough requests for a bulk buy they will produce the bush..But how many I dont know.
One of us will have to deal with it. Collecting payment, speaking with the said company, taking possession of the bushes then re distributing them to who ever has paid for them. Big job. Would you send money to someone from the site? A mod maybe, but just a guy, Id be very dubious..
I think we as a forum needs to know how many would buy the bushes if they are cheap enough. Then we all email the company together and see what the reaction is.
At ther moment the cheapest way to get bushes is go to a scappy and see if you can find a multi. ( good luck with that one )

Or you just buy a similar one and maschine them to fit!
I bougth 2 to a SAAB 9000 (they are higher and wider but the hole is 18mm) and cut them to the correct measurements, works great so far.

I have emailed several polyurethane bush manufacturers with all details asking what the minimum production run would be and at what cost per item. The last email went out Friday 1st and at this moment, Tuesday 5th 11:53, I have not had a reply even though I explained that FIAT do not sell a stand-alone bush and that it was a common failure with a potentially large world market.

I dont know what number would need to be produced to make it viable but I am willing to put money up if the cost is within reason.

Will keep you posted and would be obliged if those wishing to purchase bushes would show their interest.

Further to my last message. I have been in touch with Superflex and there is no way they will be able to accommodate the request for custom made bushes.

The reason for this is that they get their items made up in Australia and it would not be a worthwhile exercise to produce them!

On Fredde's advice I have purchased a pair of the SAAB 9000 bushes so we shall see how we get on with them.

Fredde, any advice you can give on "machining" said bushes would be most welcome.

Its was my first attemt to maschine some bushes so...
But the fastest way i found out was a knife, not that pretty but it worked. Be carefull so you dont cut off to much at a time, thats my best advise.
Saab bushes are bigger in every way but also much more "square" in the shape than the original "triangular" ones, so you have to compare it often with the original ones and the fasterners so you get them fairly similar in place and shape.
