The glow plug light is showing after engine start on my 52 Multipla 1.9 JTD.

I saw this guide for the stilo http://www.fiatforum.com/stilo-guides/151734-dealing-preheat-fault-message-stilo-jtd.html

I have check the resistance from plug that goes to the glow plug relay heater and pin 2 is open. Would this mean that the glow plug in cylinder 3 is faulty (as per the stilo guide) or could it be a different cylinder on the Multipla?

T.I.A for any assistance.

you can tell by the wire colour. (if its cyl 1 then let garage do it unless your good with the tools)

I'm going to let the garage to do it but wanted to tell them which plug to change. I took a note of the pin, but didn't note the colour. If nobody's sure which pin 2 is i'll take take it apart and check the colour.

For what it's worth the glow plug could be fine. :) Mine has been showing this for a year now, but I thought I'd wait till cold weather when it actually started making a difference. -5 the other day and started on the button (y). A friendly mechanic has advised me that the sensors on fiats fail more often than the things they're checking. Born out but the fact that we periodically get a humidity in fuel filter warning, but having had a garage (non Fiat) drain it they said it was perfect. Along with the eroneous air bag warning (don't get me started on that :bang:) I can only conclude that most lights on Fiat Dash are connected to a random number generator

If you can live with your Multi being lit up like a Christmas Tree (very festive) it appears that the best way of diagnosing true faults on them is wait till something won't work. :D

eh?

You are aware that theses 'failing fiat sensors' are mainly made by bosch and fitted to most cars universally not just Fiat. I think your friendly mechanic is talking a little rubbish here!
