According to my computer my average speed is always around 22MPH. Now as far as being eco friendly I wish that were true but I promise you it is not.

Do I need to do something to reset this and make it start showing a true reading??

The average speed reading is cumulative so unless you reset it every trip, it will take account of all the time the car has been stationary with the ignition switched on since it was last reset.

Mine usualy shows 22 MPH also. Do you live in London too?

So how exactly do you reset it.......maybe I need to RTFM

Press and hold the 'trip' button until it beeps (engine on, after checks all complete). This resets all the trip records (time, distance, mpg and average speed)

Fiddle around and you find there are two trip recorders (A and B) -- each can be reset separately, and each records an average fuel and speed figure (I think -- certainly fuel).

Mine always shows 30-31mph as an average (over say 1000 or more miles of driving)
