I have a multipla jtd 110 52 plate which is poor on fuel consumption and has poor torque at low revs under 2000-2500
anyone any ideas.

I had a similar problem with my Marea. Try unplugging your mass airflow sensor and driving the car. If it feels a lot better, replace it.

As previously stated the Mass Airflow Sensor is the number one suspect.........unplug it and if it goes better then there's the problem. You can try and clean it with isopropyl alcohol but getting a new one is a better idea........not a cheap one from ebay.

Your EGR valve could also be blocked and is also a major headache on these engines although it is a quick 5 minute job to get it off, clean the whole thing with carb cleaner (including vent pipes) and put it back on. My JTD 130 wouildn't even overtake trucks on the motorway with the EGR blocked and MAF knackered. I pulled out enough carbon to melt the north pole!

Try changing the fuel filter

There are loads of guides on here on how to do the above but if you get stuck drop me a PM.

i use to have the same problem.this is what i did.i drive my car mostly in town streets ,so i drive it on the highway and i change gears at 2000-2500 rpm i did it twice and the car begin to have torque .i could not go more then 80 kmh with my foot on the floor.try changing gears a little bit higher in city streets around 1800-2000 and you dont have to buy anything.good luck
