My rear electric window has got stuck down. the one on the other side will not move up or down so I take it that the fuse has gone or something like that.
Have checked the users manual which has been a great help!!!!!. Any one know which fuse it might be. The book says it is a 25amp fuse but seems very vague as to which one as the diagram does not match what I am looking at.
Also is there any way I can at least shut it for the time being ie manual wind system?

It's possible that either the fuse or relay has failed.

However, I didn't think that Fiat would fuse each window separately.

Usually the fronts would share the same fuse and I wouldn't be surpised if the fronts shared the same fuse as the rears (althopugh possibly not if the lower range models have manual windows in the back)

Anyroad, enough of the waffling.

It may also be that the window has come off it's support.

On most cars, if you remove the door card, you'll see that the window glass is supporting on a horizontal holder. this holder sits on top of what looks like a "scissor" mechanism that acts like a manual car jack. It'll be immediately obvious if the window has fallen off it's support.

The other thing to check is the switch contacts. Either the switch has failed or it may have come away.

You're doing the right thing to check the fuse though.

At work at the mo so I'll come back later and let you know about the fuses.

Both rear windows failing to move (one up, one down) suggests a common fault in the supply to the switchpacks. Fuse seems most likely.
Fiat would not use the same fuse for front and rear windows, because 25A would not be enough for all windows to move up together.

I'll check which fuse later.

Thanks for the quick response.
From what I can see is the rear window riser is on a different fuse than the front. In all the info I have seen it all lists the rear window riser as being in position 24 which seems to not exist in any of the usual places.
There dosent seem to be any noise of motors etc when using the switch and as both have stopped working I can only guess that it is the fuse, it just seems stange that it is not obvious as to where the fuse is located.
Hope to hear from you guys later as regards the position.
Thanks Carl

I don't want to state the obvious but you haven't pressed the lock button on the dash have you? (I only ask as my wife did this and had me messing with the car for ages trying to find the "fault"!)

I had a look in my manual and then at the passenger fuse compartment, and I understand your problem.
The manual doesn't identify where to find fuse 28.
The Workshop CD off ebay is little help either.

The manual shows 25 fuses in one block + 13 more fuses, but mine has 25 fuses in one block but only 9 fuses and 1 relay on loose fuse holders !
I'll try to investigate further tomorrow, as I'm intrigued to find out which relay does what.

There are only two 25A fuses on the 'loose' fuse holders, so it may be worth checking if either of these has blown. Also, if you press the rear window 'lock' button, can you hear a relay clicking in and out ?
The following pictures off the CD may help you (more than they help me). At least the electrical circuit is clear.

oops, now that I'm home I just re-read the first post about the rear windows. I blame my 3inch screen on my PDA.

In that case, it will be the fuse.

I won't be able to look until tomorrow night now.

I hope you can find the fuse location.

Are there no other fuse locations in say the cabin?

Manufacturers are notorius for putting additional fuseboxes in the more peculiar location.

BTW. What hides behind the drop-down/snap-in panel sited under the front left side passenger air vent? I noticed the panel this weekend after I dropped my wallet into the footwell.

Another set of fuses or relays?? who knows!!! :bang:

Cardiff Ulysse, is that EPC of yours from a Mitchells CD manual or the genuine Fiat one?

I'm interested because I'm trying to get a good EPC and workshop manual too.

Just to let every one know the electric windows are now working, it seems after much switching of fuses and pressing buttons that it may be a loose connection somewhere as after trying the window lock button on the dash at the same time as having the rear windscreen heater switched on it seemed to work, still seems abit iffy as it seems to work when it wants to (kids are now banned from touching the buttons). Will investigate more when I have the time.
Thanks again for the help.
Carl

PS would really still like to know the location of the rear window riser fuse.
