Why oh why do Fiat have to be awkward ! I recently had the first service, as per warranty on my multi but, my own garage have tried but failed to reset my service indicator.Does this have to be done under the bonnet or can it be done on the dash like some other models ? Does anyone know the model name of the machine that performs this procedure or does it mean i have to pay a ridiculous dealer price for a minutes work to have this done ? there again as long as the car has been serviced correctly and my book stamped, does the indicator need resetting as its only really a reminder facility.

Does this work [found on this very forum]:

Go to menu screen.
Scroll through to service.
Scroll untill mileage left untill service/service expired.
Press and hold the 2 smaller buttons together untill the mileage is reset to 12500.
Exit menu.(y)

Stu. Have tried the above but as mine is a 56 plate just wondering if Fiat have to put it on their own diagnostic equipment. Rang them and they want 32.00 plus vat. Been to two garages and the latter i visited said he will need a software update on his own equipment. Can i now finally get the service indicater reset. Does anyone know if it is really necessary to have done as long as the 12,000 mile service is carried out to spec under warranty as it surely does not serve any other purpose apart from to count down when the service is due.
