Hello there my froggie chums,
My wife in her ultimit wisdom has desided that "Kermit" 1.9 tld ,is far to thirsty!! She only gets around 530 miles on one tankfull..£65!!...Is this normal? or is she correct to whine :( (again)
I've shed blood over my Multipla, and dont realy want to get rid of her...
Please advise me my fellow multiplighs :worship:...Cheers...Pete...

i can drive 100km with 5 l but this depends on how you drive .i have to a multipla 1.9 jtd.i am very pleased .dont know about others

If you take the price of diesel at £1.06 per litre then my calculations make it 39.23 miles per gallon. This is slightly less than our Multipla which has averaged 46MPG over its 30,000 miles so far. You might have a problem or a wife with a heavy right foot!

Scott

Yeah ,thanks folks....
Diesel is a bit dearer up here in the wilds of Caithness,,,so i just worked it out at just over 40 mpg,,,which is not to bad.....But your right; she does have a heavy right foot!
The other thing is ,,,she's still got her old rover which turns out to do over 55mpg!!
This may be a reasonable complaint rightenough

The Multipla is a wide heavy car and has the aerodynamics of a brick so your never going to get awesome MPG not matter what engine is in it!

Yeah it does have the aerodynamics of a brick (n)
Now she wants to get rid of it :( and thats a real shame coz i was realy starting to like her, and i just bought a timing belt !
Ach weel ,its her money ,we will have to sell her i spose...
I'le have to get my alfasud back on the road again instead.
Is it just mad people like us that buy them? or do you think i should shift it quiet easily?

There's always a brave soul about looking for a Multi - it's just that he doesn't know he wants one if you know what I mean!

over 40mpg is pretty good going for an mpv like the multipla (y)

i get about 450-500 miles from just over £50 of diesel in the stilo and i estimate that i do about 45mpg which im pleased with :D
