Just started making my own Biodiselfrom new Vegatable oil after reading a few books and gaining information on the internet. The results have been excellent and my Multipla runs Smooth, engine is much quieter ,and great performance ,it has been all +++++ so far..Will post imformation on my home made equipment.ect.later this week.

Very interesting! I used to run a 1.7 Citroen BX turbodiesel on new veg oil (Tesco mostly). Cold starts were lumpy but once the engine warmed up it was fine. Better performance than straight diesel due I think to veg oil mist having a lower flahpoint than diesel oil. The effect was a bit like advancing the ignition timing on a petrol engine. Are you using electric pre-heat on yours for cold starting? The following site says that the JTD engine used on the Multipla really needs a twin tank solution; start on diesel then switch to veg oil. What do you think?

I am refining the Vegatable oil by adding Methanol and Potassium Hydroxide in a Processor that i have built. After refining it is washed and filtered, result clear Biodiesel.I will at some time move on to used oil .eg chip oil as it is cheaper at 20 p a litre. Multipla runs so quite ,would not like to go backto buying diesel at the petrol station.
