A whopping 12 minutes away from me. If that's the venue then I'll be there (assuming I'm available on the date). I haven't actually been there before, but I know there's a big lorry rest park down there as well!

Isn't this just a lorry stop? If we park a few tiny Fiats, will we get squashed?

When did you last visit..?

website says it's a family friendly cafe,
that has a long-established lorry park / truckstop in the grounds

maybe one of MI's Commercial drivers could confirm..?

I'm off to Bristol Tuesday, I'll stick a Post-it on the dash and try to go have a look.

There is a big lorry stop down there but the Pit Stop has its own little car park, we can probably fill it up completely if we get a few tiny Fiats in there ;) My father says that the place was rated quite well by people he knows, but we haven't been down there ourselves (yet). After looking at the menu, I'm tempted to pop down... Fiat parking would be an awesome bonus with some great photo opportunities too (y)

If you look at Google Earth, the car park looks tiny, but moving to Streetview shows that the car park has been extended and is now quite large. (Hopefully I'll confirm tomorrow).
What worries me though is the "1 hour free parking" on their website, and £9/day for cars.
Will be a short meet if we're restricted to an hour each. Might just as well go to the Leigh Delamere services just along the M4.

Late away this morning, so had a look on way home, 7:25pm.
Lorry park full, plus some in driveway. Surprisingly, car park also full. Cafe shut.
Big sign in car park saying customers 1 hour only in each 24 hour period, after which parking ticket must be displayed. Website says £9/day.

Can't see this working.

Thanks for looking.
Out of interest..
How many cars in the FULL carpark.??

If you look at Google Streetview, you'll see that the grass area before the cafe building on the way in has been made into a gravel car park. Picturing it in my mind, I'm thinking possibly 30 cars in the gravel area. Their website does mention long-term parking, but no idea where the owners might now be, unless a bus to Heathrow stops there.

I had planned to pop in on monday.. but other stuff got in the way
( pet shut in shed and climbing temps / sunshine..had to get home..)

not a MI event . but the meet in Alton looks interesting.. so I'm hoping to attend that,

anybody else have plans..??

Never heard you refer to Heather as pet before. I think it is a bit mean shutting her in the shed when you go out.
