This will be the thread to be in to see all of the discussion and news on future Shropshire meets. This thread will be discussion only, once events are decided upon relevant meet threads will be set up. After the original turn out was lacking in numbers, my next task is finding a date that suits the majority, which is easier said than done. So with that in mind, if we start nice and early we can get plenty of input and dates into the pot to decide upon. I'm thinking of another meet this year, possibly Septemeber or October. The route will be the same as I planned originally, with a stop off at a pub to be confirmed (I'm going to do some research and find a pub that serves grub and can accommodate a large quantity of Fiats).

The route is a little over 30 miles in length, and combines dual carriage ways, urban driving, back roads, winding A roads, bumpy B roads, and some cracking scenery and towns to pass through, as well as a blast down Harley Bank.

It says an hours journey, but obviously we'll be stopping in several places, so I'll say 2/3 hours in all. I'm going to leave it at that for now, over to you indecisive lot now (y)

Now you know what varesecrazy and I have to put up with. It's like herding cats.... ;)

Seriously, though: I'm extremely grateful to you for doing this; and think it's a great idea. I think there may become regular meets/meats as part of the MI calendar (e.g. Silverstone, Monmouth...); and I would really like this to become one of them.... :worship:

Good luck...! (y)

I'm keen to get to a MI meet...so far they've always fallen on a day when I have the kids! :-/ Personally, the more notice the better so that I can make sure the ex. has them that day ;-)

The purpose of this thread is to give people as much advance warning as possible, I personally want to see Telford and Wrekin over populated with Fiats so the more people the better.

It's a great idea. My advice would be to keep your peepers on the other events that are happening at the time. For instance brooklands and stand ford are HUGE and MITCAR is big aswell so people will be saving themselfs for that. It's the only reason I couldn't come as I spent the whole weekend on it and couldn't dissapear again the following week in fear of getting the locks changed by my wife :D

Once we've done it a few times we'll be able to fine tune it just like the other meets :)

I suspect the reason Silverstone, and Monmouth were so popular.. is there was NOTHING else on.. well out of season..!!

I'm happy to Run Silverstone in November,
and Monmouth in October ( longer drive for most in MI)

Okay so the poll is simmering, and a leader is present, albeit by one vote. I've been doing some research on pubs, and The Kynnersley Arms in Leighton qualifies as a pub with a large car park and grub. For you Time Team fans it was the pub where they found a foundry (sorry) under the building itself, so will appeal to you historically minded lot :p

It is towards the end of the route, so will be a nice way to end the meet and have a good chat about the cars, scenery, take photos and whatever else takes our fancy. I will try and pop in at the start of next week to enquire about seating and any other arrangements, they'll need plenty of warning about an Italian invasion ;)

Cheers
David
