If we're taking the engine out through the bottom, some ramps and/or axle stands (for the car) and a plank (for the engine) would be useful... -- plus a couple of trolley jacks.... :idea:

I might be in luck to hiring an engine crane out!
I will also be renting out a van so I can transport the engine from either scrappy or wherever back to mine for safe keeping until we are settled on a date
Let's put everything aside for now, and let's discuss dates please?

Seeing as Dom has said his, we need to get everyones dates in when they are free! So we can then vote on a date, once we've done that we stick to that date, yes?

I'm pretty flexible with dates but not sure how useful I'd be at wielding the spanners, although I am good at following instruction (been married 25 years)

Benny where abouts are you and your car based? I'ld love to help if the dates/location suit? I got tools, knowledge ...... And if you can't get an engine hoist, I do have a machine/motorbike lifter? That's if you can get the car in the air enough to slide it all under?

Nottingham mate , car has been left on my driveway until it can be repaired i keep starting now and again to keep the battery in good shape
I think getting the car in the air should be easy enough if we use more than one trolley jack?

Probably drain the battery more by starting it every so often as it draws so much current. Better off taking the battery off the car and storing it inside!
If i lived a whole lot closer then i could bring my dads ramps up but um, i live ages away haha.
I'm very flexible on dates mate and with you only being down the road any time suits me. I have some axle stands I will bring just in case. And I always keep a small socket set and screwdriver in my car as well as the usual jacks and such tools. Not much I know but every little helps

yeah going to take the battery off tomorrow
ah no worries mate by the looks of everything, its all pulling together now with everyone giving up their time to get this punto back on the roads, which has taken me by surprise more than words can describe it!
I suggest you put up a poll of possible dates, in this section, and see how it goes.... I'm supposed to be away the weekend of 8/9 September... -- but this is now looking unlikely.... As you know, though, in my case, my availability is dictated more by my health than a hectic social schedule... -- so will do my utmost to fit in with everyone else....
I'm up for any Sundays but can do a Saturday if needs be. I'm busy next weekend going off road segwaying haha

Right guys I will be creating a separate thread with voting for dates I will throw in a bunch of dates, and all you guys gotta do is pick the date that you are happy with and the date with the most votes will be the date we will revive the punto!!!

Yes, mate I was saying this to a girl mate of mine earlier and she said that'd be awesome idea, I saw a similar video on youtube where a group of people resprayed an entire car in a time lapse way, it was awesome!
We did it at Stanford hall when we put the forum tent up, it was awesome
