this one i have taken to show how low my under tray is actually sitting, it is held up properly but its still sitting about 1 1/2" from the floor, would it be bad if i removed it and lowered her some more?

Cheers,

Looking good Ryan (y) Did you get the damaged rear wing fixed? Or did I miss a thread about that?

Not sure if removing the under tray to lower it more is a good idea. Might end up with the sump dangerously close to speedbumps (and hedghogs!) One bump and your sump oil could be all over the road and you with another engine rebuild on the cards :(

the claims gone to my soliciters to deal with, at the moment waiting for his company to provide an answer and if its decnied a justification for it, i get the feeling it might have to goto court.

yeah i understand the tray is keeping it from smashing a sump/zorst but the sum it a good few inches higher from anthing in that pic, IIRC its higher than the bumper aswell

Good luck with the claim, hopefully you'll get your Marea back to the way it was (y)

And I do agree that it would look good even lower, there's something about estate cars looking so cool slammed to the deck

But with crappy British roads I'd worry about something going crunch and breaking. Even if it's not the sump/ exhaust/ gearbox it could be the front bumper. Look what happend to Trans' Tipo bumper when he hit a pothole :(

If only we had smooth, hole free roads like other countries do...

completely agree, i smack me bumper all over the place as it is, okay bumper/under tray.

even on the motorway i hit it and somtimes its hard!

my undertray was destroyed on removal at 60k, now on 73k i still havent fitted one and i've had no probs.

why should you expect any probs, most models dont come with an undertray. all it does it stop dirt getting into the engine bay, mostly splashes from puddles.

problem is, removing the undertray will only give you an extra half inch of clearance if you're lucky because it sits so close to the sump, and you'll be removing the sump's protection if it did hit anything. i would leave the undertray on.

The car looks good!
Mind you I thought it did the other day.
I have even been lucky enough to drive a Marea Weekend 2.0 HLX when I was learning to drive. Fab car :)

Not only red but it was free for the guys that had it. It was given to them by someone who bought it off ebay but didnt want it.
Lucky bastards I say!
