well ive got the pics through from my insurance, first time ive seen the car since the crash which was on the 27th december and i must admit it took me by supprise last night considering the last time i saw it was in a dark country lane, flashing blue lights and half 11 at night

i know the weather is getting better now, but its still not great, so please be careful out there, dont want anyone else having to go through it all aswell.

well heres the only pics ill be posting of what was my pride and joy unless a miracle happens

i dont need to be preached to about driving etc as that has been covered with the relevant authorities and im not being prosecuted, this post is purely here to warn others. i know the road i crashed on very well which is one of the things that is truely getting to me as it shouldnt have happened, but it did, so guys dont get complacent, the grip levels arent great all the time and it can go horriby wrong.

the pics show just how well the car actually stood up to the crash as the passenger area is hardly touched bar the passenger side where the car ended up resting on

Andy

Such a shame, she was a gorgeous Bravo Andy

But hey man at least you and your passengers walked away from it without any major damage.

Plus you've still got Patch to keep you going until you get yourself another HGT :D *pstt.. listen to Dunc, black HGT is the only way to go :slayer:*

Andy did you manage to salvage much from the car?

Si, i want to listen to Dunc, but unril i can get some money together i dont know what i can do :( plus i dont know what my insurance is going to be like from now on with a HGT, plus the mk2 is more expencive ot insure in the first place as its a group higher and the chip i have is for a mk1...

as for salvaging anything, not yet, the car is how it is right now in the pictures, im going to buy it back from the insurance and strip what i can, as in what i can swap straight over to Patch, so the leater interior, going to swap tha sunroof accross aswell as mine leaks badly and maybe a few other bits and bobs, but im not too sure yet as i have no where to keep the bits i want to get off! i really want to get the engine box and loom and rebuild it all and go for the conversion at some point as it may be cheaper than buying a hgt as i can do most of it all myself really

it makes me want to cry

i dont know whether to feel sorry for you, or beat you over the head with a stocking full of poo for detroying a hgt, and not just any hgt, a heraldic blue one! you're a bad lad, very bad. but i guess you've been punished enough already so i'll put the stocking down.

if you want to sell me the steering wheel (with or without airbag) i wouldnt say no, although i guess it'll be going on patch?

i like the position of the exhaust in the pics, thats what half the corsas round here look like before they've crashed.

Jug, u touch me with that stocking full of poo ill stop all the ships coming into the uk with gear on :p

tbh im well and truely gutted as it literally only had a couple of lil dings on it, the interior was imaculate and its was an absolute gem to drive, the car was faultless :(

im having everything from the interior i can im afraid mate, im being greedy and keeping as much of it living as possible :)

as for the exhaust, that happened during the crash, i can only imagine its from when i went accross the kerb, path level on both sides but no path on either side :(

I guess the silver lining in all of this is not only did no one get hurt but also that Patch is going to be treated to some sexy HGT goodies ;)

Andy when you get the HGT back from the insurance company I would be very insterested in the springs (eibach right?) if you havent already got a buyer/using them yourself and the price was right.

Drop me a PM when you know more and let me know.

It happens to us all. Its more refreshing when someone admits they are at fault for a change...

I slid on ice into a pug and wrote my first bravo off, my own fault cos i knew what the weather was like and attempting to drive down a steep hill was insane, but i knew better

My car was a write off after sliding into a parked pug 405 which ended up with a scratch on the bumper

I will be joining you in stripping cars soon, as my coupe is looking like it will be allowed to be stripped now...
