Re: I couldn't resist

Cheers for the comments, suggestions and advice guys (y)

Andy, I know exactly what you mean and I will be taking it very easy as I get used to the extra power.

Re: I couldn't resist

Well I finally got around to uploading a few photos from my phone and thought I would share them with you.

The Night I picked it up (too dark for pictures )

Now for what I've been working on today (the washer jets)
DSC00688.JPG

Thanks to mum for the loan of the coffee mug. They seem to be clearing out pretty well, will give them a little bit longer in the water and then take them out and leave them overnight in the airing cupboard so they are ready to be refitted in the morning :)

Also plans for tomorrow are debadging and a good clean so it will hopefully give me the opportunity to get some better pictures

Re: I couldn't resist

Yes Si nice one on getting a hgt, welcome to the clan hgt (y) You wont regret getting this monster, the smilies per mile are outstanding :D . How did you remove your washer jets? because I think mine are a little blocked but I dont know how to remove the lining from the bonnet?! Cheers (y)

Re: I couldn't resist

Cheers Jami (y) I havent even got her on the road yet and already I love it so I can imagine my smile once its on the road :D

As for the washers, the bonnet lining is held on by little black clips. Prise the 2 clips closest to the washer jets off with a flat blade screwdriver and then pull the lining back slightly. You should now have enough room to get in behind it and sqeeze the washer jets from behind either with your fingers or a pair of pliers and then they will just pop out of the bonnet ;)

Re: I couldn't resist

Brilliant thanks si I will try and do that tomorrow now I have more of an idea (y) Mate can I ask you a favour?! You said that you are going to de-badge the car, dont suppose I could have the wing badges could I if they are the ones which say 155 20v?? Also how much would you want for them? Cheers

Re: I couldn't resist

Will have to see what condition they are in once they are off the car, as long as I dont damage them when removing then I will pm you and we can sort it out (y)

Re: I couldn't resist

OK so it's a week later but I have finally managed to fix the washer system and now all of the washers are working  (at least for now )

And once I had finished doing that I managed to get a few quick pictures before it started tipping it down outside.

So here they are, nothing new yet (not even been washed yet )......

It still needs a few little bits here and there and then it should be perfect :D

Jami, I havent forgotten about the badges I just havent had time to remove them yet. I will hopefully get them off tomorrow and then I will drop you a PM (y)

Comments and suggestions welcomed.

Cheers,

Si

Re: I couldn't resist

Thanks for the replies guys (y)

Jami and Mountainmachine, you both have PM's :)

OK no new pictures today because I still havent got around to washing and polishing the car  (got a bit sidetracked today with other bits and pieces)

But the HGT is now debadged and has clear side repeaters

Re: I couldn't resist

Just a quicky
DSC007301.JPG

I absolutely love the clear side repeaters :D (Cheers Alex (y))

Planning on lowering next month (thinking 40mm should leave it sitting perfectly)

Not sure what to do about wheels, I kind of like the standard ones but Im very tempted to go for a set of Fiat Coupe LE wheels if I can find some at the right price.

Opinions needed...... what wheels? (nothing flashy, thats not the look that Im going for with the Bravo..... sleek and stealth all the way )

Cheers guys (y)

Yeah I agree the Stilo Abarth wheels (both the Claws and the 5-spokes) are lovely and would suit the Bravo well (especially in anthracite) :yum:

Dont worry Jordan, I did spot them on Ebay but I dont have the funds for new wheels at the moment so you're safe ;)

I bought the Meguiars Car Care kit a couple of weeks ago and decided that it was time to put it to good use.

After quickly washing my Punto and my Dad's Zafira I set to work on the Bravo.

Started with Meguiars NXT Car Wash and Wash Mit. Gave the car a good going over before washing and chamoising down. Then it was onto the Meguiars NXT Tech Wax using the aplicator pad and a Terry cloth to reviel the paint finish that I knew the car had undernieth all of the contaminants.

It's still not perfect but it looks pretty damn tidy now for an 8 year old car :D

And for the finishing touch
DSC007331.JPG

My camera really doesnt do it any favours unfortunately  but I will try to break out my digital camera after work tomorrow and try to get some decent shots.

But my god it really does shine :slayer: I never realised what a difference using decent products and the correct technique makes :D
