After being pulled by plod last week for my front tints for the 2nd time I decided on action. Rather than have a straight line at the pillar where the tint would end I thought about attacking them with a scalpal to get some sort of design on the front but still removing the majority of the tint to keep my PC happy.

End result as below. I'm rather happy with them although there are a few dodgy cuts close up.

Opinions please (constructive preffered)

I see you point. All depends on how 'arsey' plod is playing. The majority of the class is now clear rather than fully tinted

I'm not really into the tribal thing but must admit. It looks ok rather unique.

Why not politely go ask them if in their opinion it is acceptable. Save you getting tugged if it isn't and gives the impression you're taking them seriously.

i cant see why they no legal, should be a law against that spoiler though

The result looks ok and you motor looks awesome... was drooling over alloys like that at my local tyre place when I got mine tracked recently

On tints... what are the regs. now? Chap at work has just had his done B post back & rear window, Lexus SUV I was parked next to earlier was the same. Cant you legally tint the front side windows any more

You can but they have too be so light that is almost pointless.

This law is the biggest pile of crap in the world. What's the point?

I was never quite sure of the arguement, I *think* it's so people can see you, thus making it safer to judge what you are likely to do (pull out, overtake etc...)

Restriced vision on the drivers behalf I'm not sure of, as it's not illegal to wear sunglasses.. saying that though, when I first had mine done and it was quite dark, I couldn't see out the side

To get back on topic, they look sweet mate - can't see why you would have any hassle, they're not restricting your view at all ...

you need a light meter to test it. and something about % coverage.

I like them more than i did (didn't like them at all before but front window is nice now) but the back window looks wrong now compared to the fronts, i'd be tempted to do the same on the back window as well but then it might look a bit busy.. I can't use and don't have photoshop but i think it'd be a good idea to see what it'd look like on the back window too.

i think that those tints look much better the other way up with th silver at the top i saw a black silver alfa with it the other day it looked really cool.

did you not cut th window at the same time then if you used a scalpel?

so if you take them off you will have to replace two windows?

wont matter what any of us do if plod wants pull any of us over they will find something, we are easy targets and they know where to find all of us. Nice wheels not so sure about the spoiler and not really into tints.
