We bought this the other day, lots of fun to drive but its no fiat so you probably wont appreciat it

Its a ford KA (as im sure you have noticed from the photos) in silver. got 56000 on the clock and 1 previous owner. Great runner and as i said its really fun to drive. very very nippy!




I never used to like KAs but this ones growing on me heh

fords mistake was releasing it without colour coded bumpers, if they had only ever used colour coding the car wouldn't have looked so bad!

still not for me tho...

i agree that there pretty ugly things but there still fun to drive

yeah the colour coded ones look alot better. She was gonna get a punto MK2 but the ones in the colour she wanted were too expencive (metalic light blue) and she didnt like the silver puntos. She was gonna get a MK1 sporting too but it had gone when we went to look and buy.

KA is the one car i fear (as GhostWKD knows ) at the lights. Most cars you can say, 'yeah, i can take that in my Cinq' or 'i have no chance, but sod it, lets have a go' but pull next to a KA and you just never know. I have tried it with a few and its too close to call

Its the car my girlfriend is going to buy. Say no more

well i know my Uno wouldnt beat it!... this KA accelerates in 2nd at the same rate my Unos 1st does. it still pulls alot in 4th

Was I dreaming or did I once read that the engine in a KA is the same as the 1960s Ford Anglia?

I qouted this amoungst my friends before and they didn't have a clue what I was talking about (Most people in my peer group aspire to a KA but not me..!) but I am sure I did read it!

Bushboy, you really need to find out why your car is so slow at acceleration! I am sure one of those shouldn't be pulling more in 2nd than yours in 1st!

I had one as a courtesey car, it was soooooooo uncomfortable, I hated it, although it was nippy for a 1.3 and I did give it a good caning, but it's still a FORD, Fix Or Repair Daily!

My dad said exactly the same when he was given one as a hire car on holiday. Going from a Ren*ult Scenic to a Ka was definately not to his liking although his doesn't say much in support of the same in my Uno. He intended to go long distances but found it so uncomfortable didn't drive it the whole holiday (he is a bit picky).

It is a 1.3 in a small car so you would expect it to be a bit nippy.

I'll tell you how much I lke them, I've promised my best mate I'll buy him one if I get six numbers on the Lottery, his riposte was, "we won't be mates much longer if you did".

I just found out that the engine IS the same as a 60's Ford Anglia engine (with modified injection) but this was changed in '02.

So i wasn't dreaming! Sounds like Ford were cutting corners.

yeah my uno isnt very good on acceleration... it looses it in 3rd and cant really accelerate up even the slightest slopes... it is better in higher revs tho... jus the low revs are useless.

Still... its faster than the 1.0L corsa I learnt in

BSM? or do they use 1.2? I learnt in a brand new 1.6 corolla VVTI with sat nav, climate, electric seats etc. I've never had such luxury in my life! He was also the cheapest in the area (£5 for first 5 then £15 after that) and a lot nicer than the normal.

My Uno is very different, find 1st and 2nd very short but 3rd is my favourite gear. Pulls like anything even up the steepest of hills and can go from 20-60 nicely but I never like the idea of 60 in 3rd! I am not a mechanic so haven't a clue why your 3rd doesn't go too well - sorry!
