If you don't have blue and me you have to buy the ipod interface kit from fiat - the usb are not used.
You do not need blue&me to play IPOD mp3's
Fiat do an IPOD interface - the usb on the glove box will not work on early models only for charging and dealer diagnostics.
I have bought one of these from Fiat for my GP Sporting.
Part number is - 50901536 Approx £70
This then plugs into back of the radio and threads through to the small tray behind the ashtray. Then plugs in to an IPOD.
This will operate IPOD from the steering wheel controls or radio.
The setup is defaulted to run from playlists created with itunes.
Unfortunatly there is no holder for the IPOD with this kit.
This part took a lot of tracking down for me because Fiat don't seem to know it exists? Well worth it though.
This kit only works for IPODS -
hope this helps
regards
Shaun

I like the colour and the car, but not the mats :yuck: the seats i'm not a fan of either as they will look dirty after a while, i dont like any of the GP seats, the blue dot ones i had as a hire car :yuck: Dont get me wrong nice and supportive, but could have done with being less like seats designed to be in space!

well, i do like the brand... but the 5 door model. and also, in black. orange or red just to much or a show off for me. also, maybe blue or gray.

the interior is nice though, i like the dots on the seats.

and again, since i'm not from the island... the right sided steering wheel makes my skin crawl...:p

all in all, congrats and hopefully, the gp will give you miles (or kilometers) of trouble free joy for the years to come. (y)

I love the colour... its the same as mine and ther aint many around... mine has the black seats though
good choice of car and colour tough!!!:slayer:

Oh and when i connect my ipod 2 the usb it doesnt work... just says do not disconnect on the IPOD oh and mine has had "blue & me" added by fiat when they changed my indicator and window wiper stalks (dont know why it was added)... damn thing just wont work and fiat cannot seem to fix it....:bang:

I test drove the 130 diesel and was quite impressed then i test drove the 120 1.4 Turbo and that felt so much quicker. In fact i was that impressed i bought it the same day lol

Dont forget that turbo-diesels and petrols are so much different.

Whereabouts did you test it Adam, in a town .

I could bomb about town in a petrol car a lot quicker then i could in my turbodiesel stilo, but get out of the 30mph zone and the turbo-diesel starts to shine through - would have given you better mpg as well. :D

I love everything about the car and the color, except the big noticable Ipod connection. It would looke much better if it was all hidden away like it is in the new BMW's.

I can hide it away but prefer to use the ipod interface rather than the fiat one as it gives better control of the tracks i want - however it is never left on display when i leave the car.

I like the colour, however i think orange inside aswell is bit too much orange.I have orange inside, exterior is crossfire black.Black looks great clean but pants after about 2 days!!And why the ipod by steering wheel, surely you cud just plug it in in the glovebox and use steering wheel controls?

Thanks.
had the car 4 years in march - seems to be a lot of them around now. There are 3 the same colour in my workplace.

Still got the mats - very usefull and easy to clean especially when you work in a steelworks.

I see someone asked why i don't plug the ipod in the usb in the glovebox. Well that is because the original GP's did not have blue and me - they had a system very similar called a convergence kit. main difference was that the was connected using a ipod cable to the stereo and also had bluetooth.

It doesn't matter what colour the car is because the paint only stays on for ten minutes anyway.
