OH YEAHHHHHHHHH - looking for parts ..please!:)

www.teampinkpanda.co.uk - a pink fiat panda to mongolia!!!! For charity

Its the pink panda :)
Looks cute with it's pink wheels....
I hope you rise lots of money for charity :D

Oh great, another team of 'charity fundraisers' destroy another Panda in a spurious money making exercise...

You come on to an enthusiasts forum to post about taking a Panda out of the country, destroying it on a run to Mongolia and then let the locals scavenge what's left.

How much money exactly is being raised for charity? £3500 according to your website. How much is being spent on this? Not a damn sight less I'd imagine. Why not just make a donation and stop pretending you're doing this for chivalrous reasons when you're really doing it for a bit of a laugh and a cheap hoilday?

Because then he can have a bit of fun and make money for charity. I don't see your problem, he could've gone and done it without getting invlolved with any charities, but he's killing 2 birds with one stone by a). Having a little adventure b). Making some money for a charity. Leave the poor lad alone!

Sorry I didn't realise it was a 4x4  that's changed my mind a bit. There are 1000's of people a year that do things like driving great distances for charity, I think it's ok and I would imagine you'd feel like you've achieved something and done something good for charity rather than just sitting around and just giving money away. But back on topic, the guy probably doesn't realise the car he's driving is so rare and sought after. I haven't seen one on the road for a while now.

In response to a few of your commments..

By the completion of the trip, we hope to have raised about £3000 FOR CHARITY> After costs taken out for fixing the car! Proving this is for a good cause and not just a FUN experience. Which it will be, and im sorry that im going to go have a good time at the expense of losing a piece of rust from somebodys field (not a 'near extinct' classic)

About your problem with worrying about the cars running out in this country! Im sorry but ours was bought for £50 from somebodys farm and was absolutely rotten. After a LOT of welding and work! (This car was a complete ruin) it is now working (just) and it is going to have another lease of life before it gets more use (from people who will seriously benefit from it) rather than it going directly to the scraphead, which it would of done!

So..would you rather see this 'limited edition' panda crushed in a scrapheap or do what it was made for and to keep it going and do good for lots of people????

!! Think its time to click on http://www.justgiving.com/pinkpanda2 and do some good!!

Thanks Everyone - Guy

We'll have to agree to disagree. Personally I won't be making a donation towards your holiday...

Why thats no problem.... At leat I am glad to see the majority of people glad to see a Fiat venturing 8000 miles for a good cause. What are you doing with your fiat this year?...... Is it exciting????

Let me know......... Im keen to hear.

Alas....
For the rest of you... and on a serious note. We are looking for wheels and other parts. So if you have any spare, please email me.

Thanks

cinquecento and seicento steelies will fit on pandas.

Keep an eye out on ebay etc. Panda spares tend to be snapped up pretty quickly.

thanks for the help everyone.

Do the wheels mentioned earlier fit ok if used in conjunction with the other wheels (already on the car) when used in 4 wheel drive?

Will this ruin the diff in any way?

Thanks

guy

as being a worker of one of the shops who are helping out by donating parts to this team, i dnot see what your problems are..i have seen some of the progress this car has gone through and i can tell you that when they got it, it wasnt worth the ground it was sat on, the car wouldnt of drove anywhere, good luck guys hope you amke it alright!

Hope it all goes well for you.

I see peoples point about the raretly of the sisley's, but a car is a car at the end of the day. There aren't many Vanden Plas Rover 213's in the world, but then again the sisley is a great car.

I think its great your testing a Fiat to the ultimate endurance, its probably only ever been to tesco, somerfield and morrisons in its life so far.

Best of luck, i hope you raise loads of money :D

Matt

Hi, I have got to say go for it and rasie what you can. If you have got rare bits on your car you should sell them on ebay, such as tilt meter roof rack as these parts will make a fair bit.

Dave.
