wow that looks cool, you race then?

It's not racing in the picture but a picture from a track day. I was still at 100% commitment though as you might tell from the pic. Taken at an Alfa track day I was quicker than ALL the alfa's:slayer:

Yeah, I did have it for sale in a moment of weakness. I didn't sell it in the end as I was not prepared to let it go for pennies. I might sell it later in the year but then again I might find space to keep hold of it.

Good thing about them is the value is going up each year so no problems other than space and the other half

GFantastic looking car, and with Lancia Delta wheels as well which suit it well.

I have 5 Strada Abarth 130TC wheels at the mo, 3 white refurbished as one got damaged in a crash, and two standard but in need of refurbishment, had them on my Cinq with 30mm spacers to make up off-set as I love those wheels, and i have the Recaros which are pretty thread bare but brilliantly supportive residing in there to.

Anyway, nice car again

Aaron.

Thanks again to all your kind comments. There is never a dull moment driving a Strada Abarth, it never fails to draw attention even although it is fairly low key.

From the tuning information I've recently learnt about the car I'm sooo tempted to keep it.

A little story about that track day......

It was an alfa track day, they were absolutely fine about inviting me along to and making me feel welcome. I was surprised myself at just how quick the Abarth was. I really came to appreciate it while on track and have a new respect for the car now. It was quicker than anything on the day, it didn't have the most power but just obliterated everything through the bends and under braking. It was pure fun.

Most Alfa owner come over to me and asked me what modification the car had because it was so quick. They were all surprised to hear that it was standard LOL
The best race of the day come from another Fiat, the Tipo 16V – the replacement and son of the Abarth. It was a great opportunity to compare the cars one on one. There was nothing much between them on acceleration, with the Abarth having a very slight advantage and the overall cornering grip was also about the same. It did win hands down on corner entry and exit and braking which meant you could get the power down first resulting in pulling away from the Tipo (a little like the F1 yoyo affect) and then gaining more ground under braking. It was so good and stable on the brakes that you could keep the brakes on right up to the apex, just awesome. It was about 5-6 seconds a lap quicker than the Tipo and 10+ second quicker than Alfa 155 ts and classic Juniors etc.

I should have built a strada. Do you know who the tipo owner was? Great engine that 8v I'd like to drive one some day. nice car.

RICH

Hi Rich

Yeah I know the previous owner of your car. He and I hillclimbed last year up in Scotland.

Why do you say that you should have built a Strada?

I can tell you that the weight difference shows in the braking and direction change as I witnessed this first hand.

How is the Tipo going?
