Bought it last week 900 quid, maybe a bit steep for a 95 but it was tidy. done 59k. Changed the HU and put some 6x9's on the shelf. Want a couple of subs and an amp for mi boot install then i want to do some exterior styling.
If anyone has any idea's for ICE installs then i'd love to hear em'.

This is my motor that I kinda messed up when i photoshopped it lol. Notice the recurring background at the top lol.

Yer get rid of the 6x9s if your having a sub and amp!:D

I think chaos will agree that sub/amp+6x9's = :nono:

Tidy car mate, photoshop a bit dodgy :p

What would it do if i kept the 6x9's, there only cheap one atm but i dint no i should get rid.

Nice car mate! Love the colour best punto colour IMO just looks stunning! I used to have a 750watt Vibe sub n amp with 200watt 6x9 JBLs and it sounded great, not sure whats bad about having them together

you dont need 6x9s if u getting a sub and amp as they are just a cheap alternative for a sub. source sounds who i visit regualery (world sound off champions) says u dont need them but u can have them but they just for loud ness.

ideal setup.

h/u + front components then sub and amp in the boot.

Remember as well you are in a limited space with a boot (obviously) so 6x9's running plus sub/amp running must accumulate some distortion

Am I really that predictable John? :p ;)

As well as mucking up the soundstage, its not ideal to run 6x9s and a sub in the same airspace, e.g. sub in the boot, 6x9s in the parcel shelf (i.e. vented into the bootspace). The waves produced by the sub will cause weird things to the 6x9 cones, which would probably cause premature damage. You could get around this by boxing in the 6x9s so they each have their own airspace.......................but I still would junk them :)

Thanks, It seems that i have blown the full LHS speakers lol dont know how thats happened cos i dont play excessivley loud and my 6x9's have only been in 24 hours (but then again what can you expect for cheap alternatve 6x9's). So any1 know any1 who supplies cheap parcel shelves lol?

Btw thanks for every ones comments and suggestions, Very much appreciated!

it's got too many doors! lol

only joking mate - with regard to ICE installs - I'd junk the 6x9s and get some decent speakers in the front, along with a decent sub or 2.

that's mine, but the speakers have been moved from the parcel shelf to the doors...

ive got 6x9's fusion and a fusion sub and amp and the sound quality is perfect, apart from on the outside you can hear the boot door trembling. my mate has got front speakers and a 1200w sub and amp (no 6x9s) and it sounds awful. the front speakers dont go loud enough, i like to have the trebles and highs from the 6x9s in the back. anyone know how to sort out the boot door from vibrating as much? would getting a fitted boot install help?

Depends on the equipment installed and how its installed :) A relatively cheap, well installed system will outperform a more expensive, badly installed system (y) Also depends on what car your mate has, speaker sizes etc. Maybe it just needs setting up :)

Sound deaden it :)

make the bits between the doors black, that will help hide the extra doors :)

AYE???

lol eyh the sound deadens it and its not like im ever round the back with the boot shut but it just annoys me knowing that its making that noise. i know that the rear wiper vibrates but aswell as that the boot does. if i push down on the boot door then it stops? any insulation or similar i can use?

I just gave you the answer - use sound deadening :) Something like Dynamat

didnt understand what dave meant by hide the extra doors (may have been for another post). i dont know if you have heard of sterling ice but apparently they want to sort my install out for me. my girlfriend loves the deep bass but sometimes i like my dinner to go down instead of vibrating back up me gut. cheers for the advice mate.

They just want your cash :)

Spend some money on some sound deadening and spend a day fitting it. While you're at it, you could deaden the boot floor and doors too :)

wow that stuffs quite expensive

There are cheaper alternatives available, e.g. expanding foam, AquaSeal tape (flashing tape, you can get it from B&Q :))
