My new VXR

Nice car koa

One of the better VXR's vauxhall made now theyve gone around trying to butcher the name by plastering it on every car in the range

I've seen quite a few of them around my way few in red and one in blue, tbh i dont think they really stand out. I only spot them by the exhuast pipe when i see them

Took a couple of pictures today when I went up to sign on the dotted line. I'll be picking it up on the 15th of the month...

I know it's not a Fiat  But I love it. I don't know who said this car struggles in corners or whatever but that's absolute bullsh*t.

I do know that the british VXR had it's suspension tweaked for our roads from the european version.

I thought my Abarth had some poke but this is just eye popping

All I want to say is you bast**d! :)

Thats the car I want! I love it I love it I love it!

If you near Oxford anytime come and pick me up :D

Only thing I dont like is the rear central exhaust they should have one on each side like the original design:

Top Gear have got one on their long term fleet. They like it apart from the torque steer, which is bound to happen with the amount of power. I had a Saab 9-5 Hot for a few days and I think thatwas much worse.

I also think they are great value for money.

The only thing that would put me off is the image, it would attract a lot of attention from the Corsa boy racers etc.

Nice colour.

Had a hire Astra SXi model for a few days a while back and thought it was ok, quite sporty. Chuck in a shed load of power and I can imagine it would be fun. I prefer Vauxhall to Ford, they have a bit more sporting character imo.

I can understand where you are going on Fiat. Unfortunately the press slate Fiat so bad and along with the limited and poor dealer network they are struggling. I think the Grande Punto will turn things around best car in class and what Fiat do well at.

I had a similar experience when trying to sell my Stilo a while back. When I enquired with one Fiat garage if they'd like to buy my car, they turn their nose up and were quite rude. Unfortunately that attitude lost the dealer any future business.

Myself, I'll be be staying with Alfa for the foreseeable future. I've got a great local specialist that looks after my car and there is just something special about Alfa that I've not found elsewhere.

Good luck with the Vauxhall :D

Thanks dude (y)
That surprises me actually. I went into the Vauxhall dealers to just take a look at one, not expecting much to be honest and as soon as I drove in there was one coming out and it stood out so much I was stunned. I knew as soon as I saw it that I wanted one, there was no doubts in my mind, it's such an unusual shaped car and the kit on it really sets it appart from the ordinary astras.

I actually didn't like the twin pipes on the originals, that funky shape to the pipe looks better on it's own, also the Opel version has a different front end which isn't quite as nice to me.

Poggy, they certainly are good value for money. That's a lot of power for under 20K, yes there is a certain amount of torque steer when you accelerate really hard but to me that just highlights just how much oomph the car has got and it does make you smile when it happens :D

in all honesty i think this car is a perfect example of how manufacturers are learning from the modded car scene, ie kitting up their top end models with a full bodykit and silly big wheels etc  i never liked them but im starting to, same with the focus st's... am i growing out of my small car addiction? (Nope dont worry, the cinq still stupidly amazing fun :D)

lol, i'm sure the lovely people on here wont mind me having a Vauxhall sig and Avatar :)

That looks lovely Koa!
Hmm, perhaps lovely is the wrong word - awesome perhaps!

First time I saw a new shape Astra GTi I was like "Woooahh". But then it's an astra and they're a bit two-a-penny for me. However, the VXR should be much more exclusive and I think it looks da bomb.

On the subject ov Vauxhalls, the VX220 is one of my favourite cars ever. If I had the need for a motor of that ilk I would have one of those over the Elise in a heartbeat - perhaps purely for the fact that the Elise is two-a-penny too!

The VX220turbo, and now VXR - rarg. I want. Actually that crazy diesel version they did - gimme that instead!

Final thought - how can it be smaller in the back than the Stilo? Not possible - I drive with the seat fully back and you can forget putting even a child in the back seat.

THEY DO, can you make it smaller?
:p
I knew I could count on your support Dave :D

Cheers for the comments Moogs, really nice of you (y)

I have to say I am quite surprised at the positive comments the car has got so far, but I think a lot of that comes down to the maturity of this forum, appart from the odd few we have on here, :p
