I say..
Does that suprise you? i chose the sei coz i liked it, therefor a similarly styled car is to be expected.

The Punto buries that for styling, you need to get to Specsavers mate, your eyes need seeing too!
The only benefit that you'll get with a Japanese motor is it'll be reliable, that's it! Bland styling, 80s interior, no street cred, etc, etc. Sorry, but I did look at Jap Crap before buying the Stilo and it just wasn't happening, Almera, Civic, Mazda 323............YUK!
Well you did ask for an opinion
I say..
new punto? don't make me laff, i especially like the little light clusters they added on the boot, i can see the designers now, "right we have f**ked the front up, what we gonna do about the back", "lets add these stupid bits on at the bottom of the lights.. they don't need to have a function, they look crap enuff to be important"
so My jap motor offers me reliability, better performance than your own stilo, a subtle exterior, which after my outlandish mods to my sei i wanted, an interior with recaro seats as standard, blue backlit, red frontlit, white dials, mp3 players, alloy pedals, average speed conter, electric mirrors, air con.. need i go on? and as for street cred, i used to own a seicento!!! anything is a step up.
oh wait minute, i understand now, anyone who doesn't like a civic must be blinded by loyalty for his own brand, oh well, next you'll be thinking a stilo abarth is better than an RX8 [

Its one of the latest crop of "hang on guys, let us make our car look like a 4x4 and sell it to inner-city types that think its fashionable"
I say..
when i was considering a car, i looked at all the manufacturers, prices around the 10k mark, with perfromance of 100Bhp+ and all contained in a small package, i liked the look of the ignis the first time i saw it, and its closets rivals were the citroen C2 VTR and the daihatsu YRV Turbo 130. after the success of the saxo the C2 is going to be popular, hence i stayed clear, and the yrv only comes with a auto box, which short shifted constantly and only offered a poor semi auto option. So i ended up with the ignis, which may be slightly 4x4ish but at least its not MPVish....

Best of luck with it. I'd rather walk. I had a Jap car once. It was bland, boring, completely void of character and absolutely no fun to drive or own. A bit like that really.
I'll give you a month before you start missing your Sei.
I say..
lol, i had a fiat once, it was fun to drive and held the road like glue, i wanted the same again, but i had to go to a JAP manufacturer to get it...
i hope this helps everyone out, sorry for the long post...
