Hi. I am a newbie, this my first post?

My daughter’s 2011 Punto Evo 1.4 had a power steering failure yesterday, after less than 2 miles from start up, first the dash dash warning and then power steering failure. Turned engine off and back on, the power steering was normal, but only lasted less than a mile before failing again.

OBD 2 readier is showing code B10AA for Intermittent Proxy configuration control. Is this linked to the Steering failure?

Is there any checks, hacks or fixes I can try at home?

Marc

What is the history with this car?

Owned for years and trouble free..

Or a recent purchase that has sat for 2 weeks or more ?
Hi Varesecrazy. Thanks for the reply and the archive. Loads to read.

I bought as a first car for my daughter, who hasn’t been able to take test due to C19 restrictions. It has not had much use. I will check battery and charge rates in the morning.

Many thanks

As you probably know..

The hundreds of sensors dotted around the car love a healthy supply of 12volts from the battery.. :)

Seeing less than 9v can trigger errors.. quite often in pretty random patterns

Yours isnt a 'conventional' PAS error

And from what youve said.. lack of use.. therefore low state of system charge is likely

Hence my question ;)
