I have a 1.3 multijet 2008 diesel manual, cranks but no start,

I bought the car from an auction as a no start ( most of the engine was in the boot)

I have put another engine in ( from a ford , same engine code and I have used the original engine loom.
The car cranks but no start.
I have checked the power and earths to the ecu, all good
I have good cam and crank signals at the ecu
I dont seem to have fuel pressure on high fuel rail.

Relays K46 and K20 are both working fine so the fuel pump is running on the low pressure side.

It is the Injector pulse is what I am concerned about.
I use a incandescent test light , Injector unplugged , I have power to one wire, if I then put the clip on battery positive and the probe on the negative trigger wire it should flash when cranking.

I get a bright flash as I turn the ignition on and nothing when cranking?

any help would be appreciated pleas

A quick question, If I have no common rail fuel pressure , would this stop the injectors from pulsing, I think I might be going after the wrong problem ?.

Yes it would if the ECU doesn't read the pressure is up to the minimum level it won't attempt to fire the injector's

You'd need to connect a computer upto the engine and read the fuel rail pressure

Hi :)

Does the immobiliser seem to clear ok :

Key - lock symbol on for a second or two.. then extinguish ?

Once it looks 'unlocked' do you hear the pump run in the fuel tank?

There are several levels of 'security' that keep fuel from the rail..

THEN it needs cranking speed on the HP pump to build enough pressure to allow injection

Hi, I have had multiscan connected, I am no where near the desired fuel pressure, The desired fuel pressure is 372 bar I have zero and i did manage to get it up to 40 when cranking, but thats about it. Fuel pressure signal 0.5083v Pressure Regulator opening (MPROP) all I have is a % nothing else.

Is there plenty of fuel in the tank?
Not taking the **** it's easy to miss after all the work you have done.

Yes You are taking the ..... But you are spot on, I have been changing this engine and you always think it is something you have left off. Started within about 30 seconds, I am too embarrassed to tell anyone. Thanks for the help.
