500 Fiat 500 Joyful White Pearl

Introduction

Hello Fiat enthusiasts,

I'm proud to present my family's toy. Some details can be found below:

Engine: 1.2 8V 69HP (51kW), FIRE
Gearbox: 5-speed manual
Equipment level: Lounge
Colour: joyful white pearl
Origin: France
Production: 2008

More information to be posted soon in this thread, hopefully.

Greetings.
A sub makes a world of difference you can cut the bass to the normal speakers allowing them to handle more power, I've got a 10" sub with 150w RMS amp in the Mazda(sub rated at 100w )

Nice. I had a factory one in the boot of my last Merc. It was part of the Harmon Kardon system. The sound was immense.

The sound in both cars I have now is missing that final piece - in both cases what is produced in crisp and clear - but, as you say, if you try to crank it up the existing speakers struggle a bit. A sub would solve that instantly.

Greetings.

Love the colour.

Thank you, AC43! Every little 500 has his own charm. ?

They are charming cars.

Long before I ever drove one I sat in one and from that point on I couldn't find any other city car that I found remotely interesting.

After that it was just a matter of deciding on the budget, engine, spec & colour.

My wife's getting annoyed because I keep ignoring my Merc and grabbing the keys for "her" car :)

Mine too I/we have a Mazda 6 2L which I mainly drive, but at 32MPG normally the little Fiat makes much more sense to drive round the doors?

I dream of being able to get 32mpg. It's a 5.5 V8....

I've always tried to run a large car for long distance/family trips/big loads and a small one for the short trips 1 or 2 up.

The 500 is brilliant at the latter.

So it's not really "my car" and "her car" but the "long distance" and "local" car.

At least that's how I see it anyway....

It happens the same in my family. We have a 1.9 diesel and the 1.2 Fiat. None of them is "my wife's" or "mine" anymore. I happen to drive them most of the time lately but we only take the 1.9tdi for longer trips, where it feels best, or when we need to take it to the car wash. Due to Covid, most of the times we drive around town... Sigh.

Relent and do what I did we have 3 Pandas and may yet end up with four. Whatever is left for the last driver causes no ripples!

A very late reply to this thread, I’ve just purchased a lovely Fiat 500c (2013) and frustrated with the lack of connectivity with my iPhone!!! Looking at a head unit upgrade: I am pretty handy and have done these before but not to the extent of having to cut into vents or re-wire/soldering!

Any advice on an affordable path to getting connectivity? I don’t really even want to lose the look of the original head unit, just want a way to play good tunes from Spotify! Cheers all
