Tipo (Classic) Presenting my recent purchases.

Introduction

My wife and I just bought an old Fiat each. Hers is the Uno Selecta and mine is the Tipo.
Just going to use them in the summer (once we are out of lockdown) so tinkering with them.at the moment as they've not been used for a few months.
My wife had a black '88 Uno Selecta back in 1999 and loved it, seemed very old back then so a sure classic now!
I've never owned a Fiat but she's got me into them and I always secretly liked the Tipo back in the day so was lucky to find one. More photos to come.
Just thought I'd share these with you all.

Dom
To raise maximum cheer during the lock down, this is probably the best purchase you could make. Matching and unmolested examples. I always liked a Mk1 Tipo in white. The local Fiat dealer where I lived at the time, Sunwin in Bradford gave me a demonstration drive in one. Now alas a housing estate! Where did you find them?

Cheers Jonti - I got them both on eBay. Both have around 53k on the clock and they cost me approx £650 each so a right steal. Bought them six months apart too - we got the Uno first last July from Cambridge area and put it straight in the garage and the Tipo end of Feb from Torquay. Uno comes with stacks of history and parts, including the original Bill of Sale.

Sounds good - particularly as salt damage is less the further south you buy ! Put some more photos up. Sounds unlikely but worth jet-washing off the muck from the areas that can rust terminally on Tipos, under the back bumper, rear inner arches (no liner) and subframes.

Hey, Dom. It’s Mike, the chap you bought the Tipo from. Was just browsing and come across your thread with the photos! Was rather suprised actually lol. Hope she’s treating you well and you’re enjoying her.
