Punto (Mk2/2b) Punto Mk2b Van

Introduction

Hi people, thought I'd post some pics of my van. 1.3 multijet diesel. Got it cheap IMO, had 6 months MOT & just got another years ticket. Belonged to a pro-golfer. So not had a hard life. FSH too:). Stewy
I sold my rear bulkhead to a chap who was converting a 1.4 Sporting to a van last year. Got the side pannels and floor for my HGT Van project. interesting to see another one on the road. :)

Wished I'd known. I'm after a bulkhead for my van. Someone's cut the plastic mesh out of mine (but they've left the edges in so I've still got the retaining bolts). They're fairly expensive to buy new & next to impossible to find second hand. But I'll keep looking & hopefully get lucky. Thanks for the comments guys. Stewy

Out of interest, would it be worth getting my van re-mapped? Not so much for speed, but for economy or does it cause more problems than it's worth. Regards, Stewy

Remaps don't do much for petrol engines unless mechanical mods have been done.

Remaps can do A LOT for diesels but the clutch and gearbox on Fiats are the weak point. Anyone prone to shooting off hard at the traffic lights or burning out of traffic islands (because you can ;) ) would probably regret the upgrade. But if you use the torque to improve fuel consumption the transmission would be fine.

You might get you money back at the pumps but don't hold your breath.

Cheers Dave, your reply's much appreciated. I think I might err on the side of caution. Not that I'm likely to rag away from traffic lights etc. But I like my Punto van & don't want to mess it up when there's not much gain(y). Stewy
