Cool My Seicento Sporting "The Nugget"

I’ve finally got round to posting my car on here, I kept telling myself I would when the spoiler went on. Coincidentally I basically had finished the whole car when it came time to shove it on

Anyway, here she is: My Fiat Seicento Sporting, known affectionately as “The Nugget”. I bought her for 300 8 or so months ago, at that point it was nothing special. The paint was awful, with lacquer peel everywhere, shoddy scuffed up wheels & a tired, stained interior.

Since then I’ve:
- Had the engine sorted & serviced after the cam belt snapped
- Had a full Respray in rosso tiziano red
- Wrapped the roof in satin black
- Resprayed all the plastic trim in satin black
- Put on the abarth spoiler (sprayed satin black)
- Refurbished & resprayed the wheels in satin black with abarth wheel caps
- Got the interior professionally cleaned to remove any stains & imperfections
- Replaced the gray dash panel with the carbon fibre Schumacher panel
- Swapped out the OEM steering wheel for a sparco one complete with an abarth horn button
- Tinted the rear quarters
- Added a new ‘racing’ gear knob
- Replaced the floor matts with some nice black ones w/ red accents
- Sunstrip adorned with ‘the nugget’ inside & out
- New badges + an abarth badge for the rear
- Abarth decals here & there
- Abarth seat bealt covers + abarth logo stitched into the seats
- Black Abarth side stripes + black front & rear stripe
- Nice chunky exhaust tip
- Various stickers & decals for the rear quarter windows
- A Bluetooth FM Transmitter added
- Flushed out the cooling system
- Swapped out the halogen headlight bulbs for xenon ones
- Added a strut brace
- Sprayed ‘Abarth’ into the front grille
- New pressed plates in abarth branded plate holders
- General service (oil change, new air filter, new brake pads e.t.c)
- OMP tow strap bolted on
- Phone mount shoved on the window
- Sporting logo on the dashboard
- 'Eyelids' on the headlights

And god knows what else...

Still to go:
- 14” wolfrace wheels that I’ll have sprayed (you guessed it) satin black
- New to me period correct Sony head unit (really fancy thing with a screen that drops to reveal the controls)
- Upgrade the front speakers with some real nice 4 inch replacements
- Get the underneath painted to prevent rust

& That’s about all I will get away with for now due to insurance.

I’ll post some pics of when I first got her vs now for comparison, sorry for the poor interior pics, it was a very cold and frosty day when I last gave her an inside cleaning.

Not bad for a first car eh? (Though I have gone a bit crazy with my spending XD)

Thumbs up Re: My Seicento Sporting "The Nugget"

Nice sei. I was thinking of getting the abarth side decals for my yellow one. Have you got any photos of the side view?

Just wait till you can lower it! Highly recommended. Just dont crash it like I did my previous centos!

Best mod I've done for the money is a second hand Janspeed rear silencer. Sounds amazing!

Strut brace is a good mod but aren't they a pain when you need to get at the battery etc...

I found mods weren't much to insure once you have a few declared. But that was a few years ago (about 15yrs!)... Insurance must be awful being a young driver now!

I found the oem front speakers to be better than pioneer replacements that I could afford. Rear 6 x 9's are a great improvement if you don't have them already.

It's a bit of a bad image as the car is practically frozen solid but here ya go! I'd highly recommend it after being sceptical myself, for 12 on eBay you can't go wrong!
Those mods are all in my 'grand scheme' plan, coil-overs & a Janspeed exhaust followed by a 1.2 swap at some point.

As for the speakers, I've got some Rockford Fosgate Punch Series: P142 full range speakers which have been getting rave reviews (I should hope so, 'cause they weren't cheap for 4 inch car speakers), I'm banking that they'll be better than the OEM ones, especially with the new head unit.

I agree with the strut brace, it was a pain to get on too, a very snug fit.

Make sure its a 16v as the 8v swap is pretty pointless

The best and only thing you can do with the battery is to move it to the boot. The factory placement makes me curse every time I need to get to it, just terrible.

1242 8v is almost 10% power gain though! maybe more with a 886 cam and mpi with the larger spi valves?

Probably not easy finding an 8v these days...

Tbh only reason i dont recommend the 8v is i have it. original engine went boom and just so happened to have one of these around. it is slightly more torquey if thats a word but in reality adds about as much BHP as my decals

Re: My Seicento Sporting "The Nugget"

each to their own and all that...

When I had a cinq 1242 8V SPI with 886 cam it was great! doesnt stray too far from the original character of the car either. Standard engine is great fun if you've driven 'normal' cars for long enough..

Re: My Seicento Sporting "The Nugget"

Alright folks, birthday money came in & I've completely lost it. I'm putting leather fiat coupe seats (on their way to my house as we speak) in my sei, with a leatherette seat cover for the back, hopefully with the extra material from the front seat covers I'll be able to re-trim the door cards in leather too

I'm going to try and stick the stereo in/swap out the speakers tomorrow too!

It's all happening at DraigGoch HQ
