Seicento My Seicento Sporting "The Nugget"

Introduction

I’ve finally got round to posting my car on here, I kept telling myself I would when the spoiler went on. Coincidentally I basically had finished the whole car when it came time to shove it on :D

Anyway, here she is: My Fiat Seicento Sporting, known affectionately as “The Nugget”. I bought her for £300 8 or so months ago, at that point it was nothing special. The paint was awful, with lacquer peel everywhere, shoddy scuffed up wheels & a tired, stained interior.

Since then I’ve:
- Had the engine sorted & serviced after the cam belt snapped
- Had a full Respray in rosso tiziano red
- Wrapped the roof in satin black
- Resprayed all the plastic trim in satin black
- Put on the abarth spoiler (sprayed satin black)
- Refurbished & resprayed the wheels in satin black with abarth wheel caps
- Got the interior professionally cleaned to remove any stains & imperfections
- Replaced the gray dash panel with the carbon fibre Schumacher panel
- Swapped out the OEM steering wheel for a sparco one complete with an abarth horn button
- Tinted the rear quarters
- Added a new ‘racing’ gear knob
- Replaced the floor matts with some nice black ones w/ red accents
- Sunstrip adorned with ‘the nugget’ inside & out
- New badges + an abarth badge for the rear
- Abarth decals here & there
- Abarth seat bealt covers + abarth logo stitched into the seats
- Black Abarth side stripes + black front & rear stripe
- Nice chunky exhaust tip
- Various stickers & decals for the rear quarter windows
- A Bluetooth FM Transmitter added
- Flushed out the cooling system
- Swapped out the halogen headlight bulbs for xenon ones
- Added a strut brace
- Sprayed ‘Abarth’ into the front grille
- New pressed plates in abarth branded plate holders
- General service (oil change, new air filter, new brake pads e.t.c)
- OMP tow strap bolted on
- Phone mount shoved on the window
- Sporting logo on the dashboard
- 'Eyelids' on the headlights

And god knows what else...

Still to go:
- 14” wolfrace wheels that I’ll have sprayed (you guessed it) satin black
- New to me period correct Sony head unit (really fancy thing with a screen that drops to reveal the controls)
- Upgrade the front speakers with some real nice 4 inch replacements
- Get the underneath painted to prevent rust

& That’s about all I will get away with for now due to insurance.

I’ll post some pics of when I first got her vs now for comparison, sorry for the poor interior pics, it was a very cold and frosty day when I last gave her an inside cleaning.

Not bad for a first car eh? (Though I have gone a bit crazy with my spending XD):slayer:

The engine bay has finally been cleaned up, with the valve cover and ecu cover painted with Simoniz VHT Red & The bolts in Simoniz Tough Gloss Black. I also sprayed the old FIAT badge from the rear of the car in TG Black too and stuck it on there as well as a little vinyl 'Abarth' Logo to complete the look.

Compared to what it looked like before pre-cleaning with the old Airbox:

And pre-clean with the intake on:

I think it looks great now:

Removing the manifold heat shield cover was an absolute ordeal, In the end I got it off and separated the top and bottom sections then re-installed the bottom section only so the manifold was exposed, the only issue then was that it was filthy and caked in rust :yuck:. After literal hours of cleaning with degreaser, brake cleaner and a wire brush before polishing then the subsequent burning off of all the polish when I ran the engine I think I got it in an acceptable state

Now to figure out what bottom of the barrel quarrantine mod I can fill my time with next, mabye I'll re-trim the door cards......
