Re: My Seicento Sporting "The Nugget"

The Callipers and Drums have been painted and.... the wheels are on!

Also added is my 'CentoCymru' Sticker, my Fiatforum sticker arrived today & will go on tomorrow

Ahead of it's trip to it's first FIAT meet in a few days;
The Nugget will be treated to some new Denso Iridium Spark Plugs and an oil/oil filter change as well as a good ol' fashioned wash and wax.

I have more news....
After all of a few days of the car being 'finished', I can't take it anymore....
So i've got BIG plans.

Firstly, I've contacted Sparky and will be getting a 40mm throttle body for the Car. I'll then get a custom built air intake and an ecu remap to eek out as many horses from the mighty 1.1 as I can.

I aim to be able to do the unthinkable act of overtaking other cars in a Seicento.

I'm having a bit of a clearout to fund this so if anyone fancies some abarth wheel caps let me know

Re: My Seicento Sporting "The Nugget"

Plugs didn't come in time for 'service day' so will swap them out at the same time as the 40mm throttle body and the custom intake goes on for maximum 'wow' factor.

However, I have managed to change the oil & the oil filter, fix the front windscreen washer so that I can actually see where I'm going all the time and tightened up the handbrake to solve the recently developed problem of rollback on steep junctions

I quite fancy changing the Gearbox oil too so will probably get that done in the near future. All she needs now is a good clean 'n polish before heading down to Monmouth for the meet this sunday.

It's not like you need to get at the back seats

My passengers can endure broken knees, as long as i'm comfortable

I may end up taking them out anyways, I rarely use them

Re: My Seicento Sporting "The Nugget"

Will be installing the 40mm throttle body and custom built induction kit tomorrow.
So I can get a good gague of how good the mod is, Iíve swapped out the plugs and given her a test today.

The old plugs were still perfectly usable, I have no clue how old they were. Im pleased with the look of them, engineís clearly still running great!

The replacements were Denso Iridium TT plugs I bought after seeing they got praise on here.

Post replacement; throttle response was largely the same, it did seem slightly less hesitant - most noticeably in 4th accelarating from 30mph @ 2000rpm where I got a bit more torque a bit earlier.
It also seems a bit smoother and a bit happier when going up hill. It could be a placebo but i doubt it as I was quite sceptical and expecting no difference.

Will report back on tomorrows mods.

Re: My Seicento Sporting "The Nugget"

The custom intake & Sparky 40mm TB have been fitted for a few days now and my verdict is in. (Mind the dirty engine bay, I need to get round to cleaning it.....)

First of all, it looks ace in the engine bay! I've also added a pipercross sticker and a metal plate from the garage who I had weld up the custom intake for me.

Due to size restrictions - I've used a pipercross filter on the end, which was recommended to me and I really like.

It sounds ace, I'm really happy with how the car sounds now - really grunty and mean but only when I actually put my foot down.

On to performance,
This is a mod I'd recommend to anybody, Sparky's TB was built excellently to a really high standard and coupled with the intake, it genuinely has made a big difference to the way the car drives.
Power is available much lower in the rev range, throttle response has greatly improved. Overtaking is easier, acceleration from 60-80 seems much improved.
Is it much faster overall? No, but it feels that way - especially around town as the car is so much more responsive. For the price you really can't go wrong.

The seats have arrived, I can't wait to clean them up and bolt them in (hopefully a bit lower than the stock seats) to further enhance the driving experience.

I've lost my job due to this virus so post-seat change it seems I'll have to slow down for a while, unless Boris' 80% salary malarkey comes to fruition or I manage to find another job.

Re: My Seicento Sporting "The Nugget"

The deed has been done... I am now in possession of a FIAT Seicento with Recaro seats

Very happy with how they've turned out!
The doors and reverse gear only *just* clear them, but they do fit with no issues.

The runners themselves sit at a similar height if not just a bit lower, but because of the 'buckety' nature of the seats the actual driving position is a bit lower.

They are comfier than Sei seats, and more importantly more supportive.
Result!
