Punto (Mk2/2b) My "RICE" Punto MK2B aka Night Party Mobile

Introduction

My "RICE" Punto MK2B aka disco on wheels

I Would like to share my punto with you guys. This punto is my first and only car for now, and is my daily driver. :D I know most wont like the style, but everyone has its own taste.

Fiat Punto MK2B
Year 2003
1.3 JTD
340.000km

Since the car is modified i will share some informations

Exterior:

Almost completly custom front bumper with homemade front splitter wraped in goldcarbon wrap, ebay cannards in the same wrap, special licance plate holders so it can be removed. On the bumper and the fenders there is a quick release, which is now only for visuals, since i almost lost my bumper on a highway, since than its bolted on as usual. This is one of my 2 bumpers and i use it for events and special occasions.

B-Line front bumper, which i am using as a daily bumper, nothing special about this one exept that it also has removable licance plate so i can change between the two. I modified the stock fender to bumper mounts and cut off some mudguar ,now i can change bumpers fast and with 1 tool.

B-Line rear bumper, it was a 3 door model, so it is a bit modified to fit my 5 door. Added homemade diffuser with some ebay shark fins and wraped in goldcarbon wrap. Also has rgb licance plate

CSR X-Line sideskirts, i added a simple lip/step wraped in the same as bumpers.

RDX spoiler.

Headlights painted black, added ccfl angel eyes, tinted blinker lense, with led bulbs for blinkers and parking lits , and 6000k lowbeams

Rear lights tintes and all bulbs changed to led

Tinted side blinkers

Rremoved antena on the roof

Front Hood complety custom, removed the grill, removed windshield sprinklers, hood vent and bad look

Rear hatch completly cleanlook

Removed door moldings

Wheels OZ. Ultraleggera 17x7 et44, 205/40r17 toyo t1r, 20mm spacers rear, 12mm spacer front

TA Tehnix coilovers,

MTEC drilled and slotted disks in black, gloss red calipers, rear drum assembly from brembo, painted black

Interior:
Not alot changed yet, dashboard and central console changed to blue bulbs with RGB EL. wire around the gaps . Sport seat covers, as i still have original seats, because i bought leather seats from the wrong alfa.. and i still have have to weld the supports to mount them, underglow under seats. RGB Led cealing light. removed the console ashtray and fitted some switched for the lights

Music:
Also nothing special yet. Pioneer DEH-S101UB ,ESX SQ-6.2T tweeters, Auna CS-LED65 front and Auna CS-LED4 rear speakers on the shelf, they are nothing special, even bad if i may add, i only took them because they had blue leds, which i soon changed to rgb with switches. IceBlock 230 sub, bad for its size , but good for LEDs so its still in there for now.

And the part my car is most famost for in my country, RGB!
At the moment the car has around 60meters of RGB strips and other bulbs and stuff. I havent finished with this "mod" as i always get new ideas. Some pople hate it, but quite alot actully love it because it is so uniqe.

Re: My "RICE" Punto MK2B aka disco on wheels

I actually like it, I love the effort and thought that been put into it. Looks very cool.
I'd actually would've done something about those hideous door mirrors.. I am sick of mine and want to get rid of them to something more slick.

Door handles Idk about them too about them being black (or there at all haha!)

im looking into geting the "tuner" M3 look door mirrors this winter , there are many differant varients of them. i want to get the ones with electric control(as my car has electric control mirrors) and with built in side blinkers so i can remove them from the stock location, we need to have blinkers somewhere on the side of the car to pass MOT here...

For the the door handles, im removing the rear ones this winter, smooting it out, and for the fronts i dont know yet. leave them black for some color differance, paint them car color, or retrofit a barchetta ones.

It's not my taste but I do see you put a lot time and a fair bit of money into it. Still using stock exhaust?

thank you. yes the exhaust is still stock HAHA, but there is a plan to do a full downpipe, decat and straight pipe this winter if all goes by the plan. as the exhaust is pretty much rusted gone,so i hope it goes as planed

yeah I would recommend just straight piping it, why you didn't get the 1.9? How far do you plan to push the 1.3?

well im more for look modifications than caring much about engine, was briefly thinking of HGT swaping it,but its not worth it. if i wanted to go for power id start with hgt. well the car is my first car and at the start i didnt think of doing anything of this to it :D it was suppose to be a cheap daily haha ;D not sure how far ill push it, its a HIGH milage engine so its risky.. but i think that ill leave it at 100hp even after straight pipe.

If you want a tunable engine go for 1.9 JTD, it can take +400hp on stock internals. I wouldn't care that much about mileage as I would about maintenance. These engines can take a lot abuse if properly warmed up and maintained

thanks for the information.I heard otherwise ,that 1.9 are not as reliable..but i doubt ill change engines in this car :D maybe next project car will be a 1.9 power punto :D but for now i love RICE :D

You heard very wrong my friend, they have forged internals from factory

[ame]https://youtu.be/aJUrpHO1m6s[/ame] this is a Croatian Punto, it has +80 000km on +300hp setting and at least 20 000 on 350hp

[ame]https://youtu.be/KlOpeUjkD9A[/ame] or this one, look how high his EGT are and the engine is still working

There are countless examples of JTD engines making huge power while being reliable AF

With bolt on parts from Fiats/Alfas the 1.9 16v JTD can make 260hp with no smoke

thats crazy :D good to know :D i do agree that jtd engines are quite reliable, even 1.3s. for now ill still stay on "looks"

Weird, my experience of 1.9 ownership is very different. It’s one thing to increase boost on an engine and it not go bang. But it’s another thing to drive down the road and not have the cambelt give way, the water pump seize up or the turbo fail. The flywheel give up, the EGR valve block up, these engines are very comment and have a large amount of common failure points.

You ain’t gonna get 400hp under the bonnet of a mark2b 1.3 multijet without seriously re-engineering things like the gearbox, brakes running gear and subframe

400bhp on a stock 1.9 would need a huge turbo which would also add some pretty huge turbo lag.

Nice looking car! I would get a stearing wheel from punto sporting and black leather seats from Alfa 147. O and Ante that white Punto is a beast.
But that is 16v with reinforced flywheel, big ass turbo and a bunch of other mods. But the fact that internal are stock is impresive.

thank you. about the leather seats, i bought one set thinking it was from 147 but was from 156.. seats look identical but the mounting is differant, i still have them at home, but since they are not a direct replacment like 147, im still working on welding new mountings so i can use them :D

I like the ones from GT more than the ones from 147. The problem is that GT is a 3 door car and my JTD is a 5 door. They fit but they have that lach for flipping the seat over so it looks kinda out of place. I know I am a bit OCD like that :)
