Re: 2013 Unplugged Green Punto Twinair

Good job with oil change.. what tools did you need?

ePER ..
Fiatdalys have an excellent online shopping system.

My underside is NOT a smooth 'tray'

But a series of 'boxes'..

Makes me confused.. on the odd occasion I see the underside..

Oh .. and the Royal Enfield exhaust

Other than the 24mm deep socket I had to buy to get the oil filter housing off its fairly standard stuff. 17mm socket for the sump plug and a 16mm to take the bolt out of the bar that sits underneath the sump. In the TA guide on here they mention the difficulty of getting the filter housing out but the Punto has enough space behind the engine that this isn't a problem at all, just comes straight out. Getting the filter out of the housing however, found that to be a pain!

The forums version of ePER is dated 2005 and the Grande's didn't use the underbody plastics of the later Puntos. I think it is probably could be described as boxes but I think its all one piece nonetheless.

That website is very useful though! Found it P/N 51 899 571. Ä100 though, was hoping it'd be about half that, doesn't even including the fixings Can't seem to find it for sale anywhere else either

Re: 2013 Unplugged Green Punto Twinair

Have you changed the pollen: cabin filter

I changed mine yesterday.. 1st on a punto for me

I used Andys youtube guide

.. was a typical FIAT 5.5MM HEX HEAD screw retaining the cover.. so as expected..

The 2 things that were odd:

Old filter was damp:wet at one edge.. weather hasnt been great.. but scuttle drains should be clear.. can it get damp through aircon..condensing..??

The filter was a denso brand.. pretty grubby

Wouldnt be too surprised if it was the factory original.. despite FSH.. at 3 different places

Thats why I am attempting my own servicing again .. Marelli filter this time

Re: 2013 Unplugged Green Punto Twinair

I have actually, I did that back when I got my A/C recharged as the fan blew a little weak.
The same 5.5mm hex was on mine, bit of a pain, had to dig through a drawer full of old tools to find one.
Mine wasn't wet although hadn't had any rain, it was a filthy shade of black and full of small bits of leaf.

Re: 2013 Unplugged Green Punto Twinair

The actual MPG matched the computer for once, 48.5mpg which is the best I've done over a tank so far, mostly motorway work.

On wet mornings its started squeaking for the first ~20 seconds, not a squeal just a quiet squeaking. Could be aux belt I haven't checked yet, seems odd for it to be going this early. In my experience they usually wear due to age rather than mileage and it's only 6 years old!

Re: 2013 Unplugged Green Punto Twinair

Well its still got all the oil in it and its still a nice goldeny colour although the sh** dipstick makes it impossible to tell.
I forgot to post here, just before I did the oil change I sanded a part of the dipstick to make it easier to read.

Planning on changing the plugs before the weather gets too cold as the service history doesn't specifically mention them being changed the invoices just say 'service'.

Anybody know what plugs they used from factory and the gapping? Thanks

Re: 2013 Unplugged Green Punto Twinair

Ask about plugs on modern panda section..

Mine is on its 4th set.. they have a hard life.. so I get them done early.

Memories of bad plugs killing coil packs.. and burning ECU terminals punto2

£20 Extra per year seems a good trade

Had my 1st trip in a while last night..

Abingdon to Abertillery.. ( other Alphabet letters are available.. )
1.5 hrs of 70 along the M4

Trip shuffled briefly from 51.6 to 51.9 then back to 51.6

Im fine with that. supermarket basics all its 50k

Mine does squeak at times..
strangely.. it was quiet today.. in the mist up a mountain..
but last nights run would have helped

Re: 2013 Unplugged Green Punto Twinair

Scraped through the MOT needed front discs/pads imminently. They'll have to wait till payday. Annoyingly about 2-3 days after the MOT I heard an occasional scraping, had a look and the undertray was hanging down at the back. The MOT garage shouldn't have touched it as they aren't allowed to remove anything?
It's been attached without incident since my oil change, perhaps its just coincidence and it caught on something.
Its torn the two screws out at the back to will need replacing/repairing before I can refit

Another interesting tidbit, whilst coasting toward a red light I knocked the car into neutral, braking gently and the start/stop cut in? It immediately restarted itself but was very strange whilst moving, I thought it was only ever supposed to activate with the handbrake on
