So picked up my new daily/running project as after some issues with my Cinq I’ve decided it needed to go

There a little animal the mk1 sporting. The mk1 block is superior to any other 16v block.

Re: Hensey’s mk1 sporting

Turned out to be new wheel day I was going to fit my 14x6 et20 m05s of the Cinq but I would have had to faf around swapping tyres ect so I found a set of 15x7 et20 flat spoke m05s on eBay and decided to sell my 14” comps and buy the 15”

Also decided to test fit one on dads Alfa to see if they’d fit over 305mm brembos and the answer to that is yes they do so Coupé/156/147/gt brembos could be on the cards in the future after I sell some of the larger bits on the Cinq

Ermmm... accepting that the early 1.2 16Vs were very peppy and punchy, I do think you could be going a little overboard on wheels / tyres / brakes !!

An engine swap was always on the cards from the day I brought it so makes sense to do the important stuff first, plus the abarth kit needed fairly aggressive looking wheels the standard sporting wheels weren’t cutting it imo

Re: Hensey’s mk1 sporting

Yes take your point about the wheels, they do fit well. But the tyres are maybe too tall?

I assume you're going to enjoy the standard engine before committing to a engine upgrade?

The 195/50/15 tyres fitted are nearly the same height as the original 185/55/14s but i agree the 15s do look quite chunky but I’m of a fan of that tbh

And yeah the 1.2s staying around for some time yet got a landrover to get built and on the road before the punto has any major heart transplants

That does sound eminently sensible... presume that's the big green landy that last had an update just over 1 year ago!

Been slightly addicted to buying detailing stuff since I’ve got the mk1 as the paints quite good so would like to keep it that way
