Seicento Fudgie the ratlook Seicento

Introduction

Hi there,

I've just introduced myself in the introductions section, but here's my car story.

I have just recently bought a 1.1 mpi Seicento, and i like it! I've always liked small ratlook cars, so that's where this is heading.

When i got it home, first thing to do whas to change all the fluids and filters, and put in new sparkplugs. Gearbox was pretty much empty, and the oil that was there was pitch black. Some new oil made quite a difference and it sounds a lot better now.

I know this is not to everyone's taste, so sorry to those who feel offendend by what i have done to my car. :slayer::eek:

Here's a picture of how it was when i bought it:

After stickerbombing and rusting it up (the potentialy offensive part :D):

And today i've added a pod filter. No significant changes performance wise (air temp dropped about 7 degrees celcius), but liking the sound of it. Plus i enjoyed working on it, so that's an afternoon wel spend!

So today i have put on the mirrors from a Cinq, because i like them better. And then i also put on the wheelarch covers (?) from a Vauxhall Corsa.

Interesting :p

I'm not too farmiliar with the Seic's but is that the same engine as a 1.2 Punto? Looks very similar, imagine that's gotta drive nice as fairly powerful in a Punto but the Seic I imagine is a lot lighter!

Waarom de bungiekord/kabel?? Ook deel van de ratlook, of houdt die motorkap dicht?

All 8v FIRE engines look pretty much identical from the 750 to the 1.4 :D The 16v ones are the only ones that are that visibly different.

Every now and then my engine was making a strange rattling kind of noise that I couldn't quite figure out. So today I decided to open up the rocker cover, because that was where it seemed to be coming from. I found a piece of plastic about 2 by 1 cm and 4 mm thick that was in there.

So apparently that's been flying around every now and then. Couldn't find where it came from though.

While i had the car up on stands anyway, I also changed the engine oil and the coolant. Thanks for the howto's on the coolant on this forum. Everything went well and now she purrs like a kitten again!

Is it possible the loose plastic piece is the baffle plate that reduces oil being blown out of the engine breather?
