Panda 2012+ Panda 85 Lounge, Grigio Argento (Metallizzato)

Introduction

Today i bought a replacement for my "total lost" Panda 403 Turquoise.
It's a Panda 85 Lounge from november 2012 with a little over 28.000 km on the clock, it has all the nice extra's.
Some changes will be done i due Time.
I will collect it in two weeks time, later more. :D
That would mean i'm 20% heavier then the scale tells me.

Well not nescescarely because the scales you are using are meant to weigh big weights and probably is a bit more accurate if your standing on it yourself.
I also tried weighing the wheels on a personal scale but that doesn't give good measurements even if I tried holding a wheel and stapping on the (digital) scale the results just variëd too much.

Yep, a hanging hook scale would most likely be the best solution.
But weighing my 16" black steel wheel and tire, i came up on 14.5 Kg.
It made no difference having a 205/45R16" or the 215/40R16" tire on.

Well put a Barchetta wheel on the scale again, and it was 9 Kg.
Put also a single winter tire (195/55R15") on the scale and it was 7 Kg.
Making it 16 Kg together, without wheel weights, valve and air.
If it's 20% off then i would mean all together it would be 19.2 Kg.

Well that looks to be a lot more accurate.
19,2 till 20 kg looks to be a realistic number looking at the specs given by suppliers on wheels and tires.
I wouldn't be surprised if the O.Z. 's plus tires come in at anything around 22 to 24 kg quite honestly.
Did you ever weigh the stock 15" alloys with the tires?
I'm curious how well the hanging digital scale will work and uf I can get any goog weights from it.
Knowing the weight of the TEC wheels should help to determine this I hope.

Never weight the stock 15" alloys.

This probably will be more like 8,5 kg for a steel rim plus about 10kg for a tire.
So at least 18,5 kg looks more likely. Still pretty good for a 16" combination.

What’s the weight of your Steelies? I want so bad a set of 16” for mine.

Where did you find em?

Today I recieved my cheap digital hanging scales and did some tests and measurements.
I tested by weighing a 4 pack of 1,5ltr bottles of Coke. Then I searched for weights on the bottles online and also put a seperate bottle on my kitchen scales.
I got 6,400kg for the 4 pack on my new scales and 1580gram per bottle on my kitchen scales. With the added plastic this looks pretty damn good. Also online I found info stating that a full pet bottle weighs in at 1600grams so everything looks pretty spot on and no big differences here.
Then I did the TEC wheel and it came in at 8,980kg including a valve so I was pretty pleased with that weight. Of course I can't be a 100% sure if this is perfectly accurate but after thextesting I've done I have little doubts about the new scale and if there isca difference it would be a very small one. I'll keep you updated on the other weights of wheel and tire combo's but it will certainly take a while till the weather gets better.

Not to bad for a 17" wheel. ;)

Certainly not bad. The 16" O.Z. Anniversary 's are supposed to be 10kg a wheel so going one size bigger with at least 1 kg weight loss per wheel is very nice. The 17" tire is a little bit heavier though.
But at least I think the combination won't be heavier then the current set up.

Pretender, give us some photos of the grigio panda. It’s been a while.

Depending on the tire: make and type.

Well as I'm almost certainly will be going for the new Premium Contact 6 that probably be around 500 grams heavier then the 16 Premium Contact 2's that are fitted now. Might be a bit more because now I'm running 195/45 and on the new set I will have 205/40 .

The Premium Contact still highest on my list after last friday driving in heavy rain they are still very good and this after a bit of wear and now about 6 years old. No surprises and plenty of feel ant grip.

Summer Conti's are noisy tires IMHO.
Always 70 dB or more, the 6 is even 72 dB.
My Conti TS860 winter tires are also not the most quiet (72dB) tires, but they are very good in all the disciplines . :D
