Hi

My 2008 Grande Punto 1.4 3 door hatchback won't start.

It turns over but will not fire up. I checked for spark and I have one.

It is as if I am not getting fuel through. I ran out of petrol and topped it up again but now it wont start.

Where is the fuel cut off switch on this model?

And would appreciate any ideas. Would a tow start it?
Thanks.

Hi, and welcome, :)

turn on the ignition , can you hear a buzzing from under the rear seat..??
that's the fuel pump.. if it's running - you have another issue,

I believe the reset button in on the plastic trim , UK passengers footwell,
near door hinges

here is a helpful thread - IF you are having more trouble - reply to it..

driver side (uk) drivers footwell in the plastic trim there is a hole... (look at the passenger side similar place to the bonnet release pull)

Later models have a reset via the indicator stalk

To reset car operation, follow this procedure:
turn the ignition key to MAR;

activate the right-hand indicator;

deactivate the right-hand indicator;

activate the left-hand indicator;

deactivate the left-hand indicator;

activate the right-hand indicator;

deactivate the right-hand indicator;

activate the left-hand indicator;

deactivate the left-hand indicator;

turn the ignition key to STOP

can you explain what you mean, thanks.

Is there a way of checking if fuel is getting through up to the engine?

Is the fuel cut off switch in the drivers side underneath a plastic trim on the side wall of the footwell near the door???

Could there be an air lock because I ran out of petrol???

I have grande punto 2009 1.3 multijet
The engine crank but wont start, and the central looking doesnt work.
I am so confused.there are not power suply on the fuel pump uder the rear seat (I checked on pump conector)
I cant find cut off buton to reset (maybe doesnt exist)
Maybe I have problem with immobiliser ?
Or some relay is stuck ?

Hi.
If immobilised.. the keycode:padlock symbol will come on.. but NOT go off.

Does it work like this.?

The central door locking may be unrelated.
