Cinquecento Hensey's 1386 16v build

Introduction

Some may or may not know my 1242 8v Schumacher seicento build thread here:
https://www.fiatforum.com/showthread.php?t=428240

But anyway I been lusting for a Cinq for a very long time and a good friend of mine decided it was time to get rid off his so I couldn't say no for the price
Spec at the min from what previous owner has told me is
P75 engine (inlet manifold is broken so if anyone has a spare lying around give me a pm)
P55 six speed gearbox
Comp m05s
Lowered 40mm
Pollybushed here and there have found the rear trailing arm and tbelt engine mount bushes in the boot
Pgt brakes all round with drilled and groved discs
Omp steering wheel and maybe an omp boss
Yellow Lockwood cluster faces
Full supersprint exhaust system including super sprint 4-2-1 manifold
Meant to have a 40mm tb haven't checked this yet

And maybe a few other bits and bobs I've missed or I haven't found yet

Currently the heads off the engine it come with every thing to refit but some how the inlet manifold has been broken so I need for find one or another head with one and needs the rear callipers re fitting the are brand new in a box in the boot i've looked all over and the only rot I can find is in the wheel arches

So the game plan is to get it running and driving so I can make sure the running gears okay then straight onto getting her looking nice

Now boost is loading I am in the process of buying parts as and when they come up forsale or Making it myself but so far I've got a manifold and decomp plate

Right so now to some pictures of the old girl IMG_1474743714.358328.jpg

Re: Hensey's 1242 8v turbo build

Well I thought I'd update even though much hasn't been going on but I feel like I don't put enough information in this thread like I do with the white daily

But anyway carbon canister removed and solenoid cabled tied up out the way

IMG_1141.JPG

Rear brake pipes all made up not the cleanest way of doing it but it works

IMG_1136.JPG
IMG_1137.JPG

Engine bay picture and the fuel pipes I need to sort

IMG_1138.JPG
IMG_1140.JPG

Comps have no tyres on now so they can go for a refurb and have my rainsports fitted that i'm getting off Lecook
IMG_1135.JPG

Sideskirts fitted yes I do have three need to find myself one passenger side one and then everyone can guess what i'm doing with the second set but would be rude not to test fit the one yellow one I have

IMG_1163.JPG
IMG_1164.JPG
IMG_1165.JPG

And a picture with the long abandoned project would be nice if I could get both done this year but I doubt that lmfao

Re: Hensey's 1242 8v turbo build

Kv85s fitted seems to rev and idle a lot better now but didn't sort out this strange misfiring I've been having but I've think I've got that sorted but I'll get more into depth with that when I 100% know that's the issue

IMG_1310.JPG
IMG_1328.JPG

Also as I let the black rear bumper go with the white Cinq I decided to fit my old bumper back on, just need to find a nice intact yellow bumper now to fit the rear apron in to and have it all painted, and also popped the comps back on just so I didn't have the sat about in the shed getting damaged

IMG_1338.JPG
IMG_1339.JPG

I do miss these wheels can't air to get them refuted and tyres on and see it all painted up

Re: Hensey's 1242 8v turbo build

Well where do I start stuff hasn't exactly been done as some might have seen I want to get the landrover finished but there's been small bits done to the Cinq

So first of comps have been refurbished

IMG_1973.JPG
IMG_1974.JPG

Then sadly I found a yellow Cinq on the scrapyard so had the rear bumper off for mine

IMG_2093.JPG
IMG_2100.JPG

Then decided to place the sideskirt on with a few screws in the ends this keeps them out the way and stops them getting damaged

IMG_2169.JPG
IMG_2172.JPG

Also put my cento uk stickers on (another group i help admin for on Facebook so definitely go check them out)
IMG_2295.JPG

And decided to photobomb there stand and forza in my punto

Re: Hensey's 1242 8v turbo build

I'll be honest I really did lose interest in both the projects, funny really what happens in your life that give you a kick up the arse just wanted to introduce the other halfs Cinq no doubt I'll eventually do a build thread on this

IMG_3027.JPG
She's had it a few months I think fitted the boot with Barth spoiler over the weekend

But good news because off the above I've got **** loads of enthusiasm to get the Cinq done so stuff has happened

IMG_2794.JPG
IMG_2792.JPG

Flexi on center pipe has been changed to stop it blowing not an amazing job but does the job till I can get another one made as will need some other exhaust work sorted to make the tail pipe for the Abarth rear apron

IMG_2824.JPG
Headlight wiring has been put back to how it should be as someone spliced into the high beam wiring when the spotlights were fitted

IMG_2931.JPG
IMG_2937.JPG
Stongflex yellow mount fitted to spare mount still has to be fitted to Cinq

IMG_2970.JPG
IMG_3061.JPG
Goodridge Punto gt rear calliper brake pipes fitted this is as you can see not the finished product it's just put together to stop fluid pissing everywhere

IMG_3071.JPG
IMG_3072.JPG
IMG_3073.JPG
Mr cook dropped my 3 rainsport 2 tyres down and some 30mm spax springs so fitted the tyres and a spacesaver and had a little drive up and down the road brakes need bleeding but the gearbox seems okay clutch is abit heavy but I guess that's to be expected really

IMG_3084.JPG
IMG_3085.JPG

IMG_3093.JPG
IMG_3101.JPG
Fitted the spax rear springs to replace the old ones just a head up for anyone my old springs will be in the classifieds at some point obviously very cheap but may come in handy for someone

Then it'd be rude not to get his and hers pictures aye

Re: Hensey's 1242 8v turbo build

So been pretty busy not much on the Cinq but more on the garage and shed

IMG_3473.JPG
IMG_3459.JPG

So plans have changed as some might have seen I've said I've sold my 8vt stuff

I've decided to go 1368 16v yes abit more boring then the 8vt but more cost effective for me and something I haven't built but don't worry my current p75 is staying in the family and going in the other halfs Cinq

I've put down a deposit on a 1.4 16v that's previously been in a cento but sadly the ecu and loom was scrapped with the Cinq
IMG_3532.JPG
IMG_3541.JPG
IMG_3542.JPG

So I'm in need a mk1 punto 16v engine loom and ecu with related imob stuff so if anyone has said items knocking about please please message me

So the 16v is in my hands now it's time to clean it up, plans are to take the head off then check the bottom half over new cambelt water pump get the head skimmed new valve stem seals the usual stuff

Then clean and paint the block

IMG_3710.JPG
IMG_3711.JPG
IMG_3712.JPG

As you can see I've got a slight issue with the err aux belt alignment
IMG_3707.JPG
IMG_3714.JPG

Also put a deposit on a supersprint exhaust mani that I should hopefully be picking up Friday

IMG_3648.JPG
IMG_3649.JPG
IMG_3650.JPG

This is going to be a really enjoyable experience trust me !

Are you going to use the mk1 head?

If you are, watch out for the supersprint mani the one you got is more likely for the newer head pattern. You can get a flange from Ashley exhaust that will take both stud pattern and reflange the supersprint mani.

Have you also the mk1 inlet manifold?

With the Aux belt issue, try and get a mk1 sporting alternator will that solve it. Just now I am running washers to space the alternator out (using a cinq one).

I am sure you know, you need to grind down the mount on the driver side to give it more room.

I got a set of mk1 loom, I was going to keep spare. Message me if interested.

Also fuel pressure regulator will come in handy.

Thanks
Ming

Cheers Ming it's got it's original 1.4 head with a mk1 punto inlet bolted to it

And I'll let you know about the loom just waiting for the guy I'm in talks with about a loom and ecu kit to get back to me

So it’s all go around here mk1 sporting loom ecu codebox ect all turned up a few days ago

Image1507710666.943883.jpg
IMG_4062.JPG

Then decided to buy some new led sidelight bulbs for the punto that didn’t fit, after a light modification to the housing in the Cinq they fit
Image1507710789.291057.jpg
Old vs new
Image1507710816.248299.jpg
Both in
Image1507710848.786836.jpg
Night time picture
Image1507710888.115024.jpg
Yup that’s with my headlights on too there abit bright

And finally it’s in the garage the actual work van begins
Image1507710981.902163.jpg

Well when I say actually work I’ve only really cleaned the back out but it means I have an nice clean place to start when my fuel pump turns up so I can change that and make sure it works properly before I try running the 16v on it
Image1507711077.882274.jpg

I was looking at a cheap Idea 1.4 16V for my Cinquecento and a t-jet for a Panda my mate is building. I think I'll have to go Omex or Emerald.

Well it’s it’s been a while I’ve update facebook ect with what’s been going on but haven’t had chance to do the thread

Obviously the fuel pump was a massive unknown with the car and with the 16v needing a 3bar fuel pump I decided to change it out for an apc 340lph unit from jjc race and rally it could be seriously poop but I’ve never had problems with anything from jjc so thought I’d give it ago as it looked better then the other pumps around the same price range

IMG_4109.JPG
IMG_4115.JPG

But then found out it already had a walbro 225 in, but it was in very poor condition so decided to replace it anyway

And then got offered some 8.5mm ignition leads brand new coil packs and a mk1 16v alt
IMG_4187.JPG

Obviously still need a 16v lower pulley
IMG_4188.JPG

Then decided the garage needed more light that come in the way of x3 4ft led lights
IMG_4212.JPG
IMG_4214.JPG
IMG_4232.JPG
IMG_4233.JPG

I also found some abarth headlight protectors on eBay
IMG_4230.JPG

Then basically pulled the front off and got the engine pretty much ready to come out just have to pull the drive shafts out and drop the engine and box onto a bread trolley
IMG_0007.JPG
IMG_4305.JPG
IMG_4304.JPG
IMG_4306.JPG
IMG_4307.JPG

And that’s if for now have someone coming around over the weekend to wire in the extra household plugs in the garage then the engine is all ready to be removed
