Thought it was about time I put some photos on here , I have owned the car for 11 years now , it was my brothers previous to me who purchased it in 2000 . it had 17s on it but I had some original wheels refurbed , trying to get it back to standard .

some goodies to put on returning it to standard ride height .
we attended a show last night at the Hurt Arms ambergate, it’s a monthly event . Good spread of classics/ retro cars old to new . saw few other fiats there , a yellow coupe, punto HGT & a seicento monster truck !IMG_4297.JPGIMG_4301.JPG

Thanks [emoji1303], yeah a rare sight now , only 50 cars on the road according to how many left . only ever see them a fiat shows . do you have a GT ?
Hi Steve. I do not have a GT yet but I have a mk1 75 full GT look. Who sees iy thinks it is a GT. To be a GT I only need the engine and the dark front indicators from the GT2 and GT3.
I have this car since May 2008 and slowly since Marsh 2009 I have been modifying it to a full GT look.
I am in Eastbourne, East Sussex now and the car is back home in Madeira. But I still want to have a Punto GT (preference for the GT3), a Fiat Uno Turbo i.e and a Fiat Coupé 20v Plus.
The thing with many GT is that people would try to modify them but not know what they were doing damaging them then the car was left with a bad reputation.
Is this your daily car?
Regards

Sounds good alex, you have had that car a long time , sure it will last in the warmer climate [emoji1303]
Mine was a daily when I bought it in. 2005 but it’s just a summer and show car nowadays. mines standard and decent to drive , hopefully it will give me a lot more years motoring that way .

For sure it will.
There is ways to treat the chassis against corrosion and it is worth it.
I really want to find a stock gt one day.
There is one in a portuguese website for 4000 euros 90,000kms only on the clock but I cannot afford it now. Lol.
You've yours longer than I have mine.
Enjoy it mate!

IMG_4325.JPGive given the gt a good fettle today ready for the retro show at santa pod next weekend , there will be around 16 gt’s on the club stand [emoji1303]

Had the gt in for the mot at the weekend and passed ok [emoji1303] I’m hoping to get to a couple more shows this year , mitcar in August at the jaguar Land Rover works and the Italian car day at Stanford hall end of September.

So not really much to update , didn’t get to any of the show’s last year and haven’t used the car for ages other than short trips round the block as the roads seem to still be covered in grit/ salt [emoji1304]I’ve some new handbrake cables to fit and an oil n filter change that’s about it , roll on summer ☀️

my old gt would lock its rear brakes in cold weather cause water got up the cables and froze, never did get around to changing them, but then i did have like 7 cars at the time and the gt was not driven in winter, made for some entertaining musical cars though i can tell thee

I had that happen a couple of times a long time ago during very cold weather , tried getting it out of the garage one morning for work and it just wouldn’t move thought it was a problem with the rear callipers , had to use my old lambretta to get to work, I nearly froze [emoji33]

Had the GT out for a run today, the new handbrake cables are working well . There seemed to be quite a few old cars out too, we passed a silver convertible strada going the opposite direction [emoji50]

I bet there were a large number, getting out while it’s possible [emoji40]I pay it on the monthly in case we get good days over the winter to get out , don’t think the car likes not to be used for 6 months in a row .

I had the Gt out today to go shopping for a change as the car parking wouldn’t be as busy, did a bit of polishing when I got back [emoji41]IMG_4606.JPG
Had a bit of time in the loft too tidying the spares I’ve got , good job the Mrs doesn’t come up here [emoji23]IMG_4600.JPG
