Hello folks!

I've been a lurker for a while. I've got myself a little project car named Mama (you'll get it when you see the reg).

To date, most of this is on FB, I've done quite a bit.

New rear bench,
welding in the boot floor
, a head gasket and all of the bits it makes sense to change when there,
core plugs,
a full service,
a new clutch,
new headlights,
a new OE bumper on quick release catches,
removed several crappy after market immobilisers and alarms and cheap - wrap and tape audio nonsense,
replaced the door cards,
pedal rubbers,
removed under car neons,
replaced the crank and cam oil seals
and given her a new rocker cover gasket.
I've fit upper and lower strut braces and plan to weld one across the back.

This car was bought under the illusion that it was spotless, a 7 hour train ride on a Sunday and no nearby hotels meant I bought it. It's a turd.

The project element comes in the form of making a trofeo rep similar to that of Pete Murrays (I've even asked if he'd mind - his was an inspiration to go out and buy mine although I've never actually met him!)

Pics are all on Facebook and I'm at work where it's blocked but I take several as I'm going on to remind me of how bad it was and how much I've actually done when I'm at the stage of hair pulling.

I love her and driving it gives a real buzz. It has some parts of note, a ported head and a Vauxhall crank(???) All I know is that it pulls well and just needs some good old fashioned lovin'

Pictures to follow.

just a note,we love pics on this forum :p uplaod to gallery and link to thread,

ive seen and been in the trofeo rep when it had a 1242 16v in it,has a new owner now, but decals are available still as im intent on purchasing a set also.

seems you have the right idea about these magic little things :)

eager about vauxhaul crank? does seem rather odd?

removed under car neons
I want to see a picture of this.... didn't think anyone did this anymore. Though it does bring back memories of playing NFS: Underground.:D

Vauxhall crank - how do you know it's got a Vauxhall crank? :)
Just intrigued, it stamped on it, any part numbers? Just wondering if it's a direct fit and if there's a part number then can find out dimensions etc.

Stamped as such, only noticed when changing the crank thought it mega odd. I've no idea of why or what benefit it offers if any. A weight or throw advantage perhaps? Still spins without a belt after a head skim so I can't see it has changed the stroke. Christ knows.

Neons didn't work and let's face it, who would want them too?
