Bravo (Classic) My new Bravo!

Introduction

Getting my new bravo this weekend! Can't wait! It's a 1.2 16v (I Think? Or 12v)

Anyways! It's got aftermarket alloys, which look okay but have to go! I have plans to find some original Bravo alloys, or some Tempra alloys.

Always wanted a Bravo since I was a kid, my neighbours had two HGTs! A yellow one and a black one. I guess they where like me and loved fiats!

It has a spot of what is the starting of rust at the back above the bumper. Just need to think how I'd get rid of it. Sand it down? And re-paint it?

The Passenger seat also needs cleaned, But I have some good stain remover that will make it like new. Not as keen on the interior. I could always look into getting it Reupholstered.

My favorite thing about this car is that it has the Fiat Badge on the Dash, Kinda sucks it doesn't have the nice trunk spoiler though!
Congrats, looks like a nice straight example apart from the boyracer mods to the gearstick and parcel shelf speakers etc.

Should be an ideal car for a young driver, the 1.2 16V is a great engine if looked after with careful coolant and oil changes. Lots of revvy go but good economy, insurance not bad but CO2 road tax a little high. But a better, purer drive than a new 500 1.2 8V...

The alloys aren't too bad but they've probably got wobbly bolts so replacement with genuine Fiat ones (15" ideally but 14" are fine) would be worthwhile at some stage. They're becoming harder to find now..

As for the slight rust... take the trouble to remove the bumper and clean everything up underneath, they will start to rot so best catch it early. You can just sand down the rusty paint section and treat it with some acid converter stuff, the a little red oxide primer then order a touch-up pen in your colour and finish off the repair.

Your biggest problem is potential rust along the floorpan and sill joints, at some stage you need to get the car up on stands and have a really good poke and scrape at the underseal, this fails after 10 years and lets water and rust fester underneath.

Ah well I shall order up some touch up paint and get right on that! I never new the speakers where a mod! They look okay. I thought it was a bit weird having speakers there!

My brothers a fiat parts assistant so should be no problem with touch up paint, has it been debaged at the back? Or is it supposed to look like that?

And as for the bumper, would I just like stick a screwdriver in it, and yank it out or something?

I shall do :) I just love the leather interior on the bravo! Someone on this forum has a silver one I think? With a lovely full leather interior with black dadhboard.

I was thinking about ordering up some new bages too! Got some for my old tipo as the paint had faded on them. I will be changing the air filter, oil filter, fuel filter and HT Leeds so it runs that bit better!

The HGT was my first choice of bravo to get, but I couldn't find any online. A guy I know that lives in Arbroath had one with no mot for £500 but I had no ways of getting it home because of the mot.

my marea weekend st moritz (a clue for finding the photos) has all the good stuff, 4 airbags, abs, automatic climate control with air con, leather seats and leather steering wheel with controls for the radio and cd changer.
I just wish it had cruise control.
these cars are addictive. have fun and welcome to the bravo/a section.

The annoying thing is I can't find any fiat bravo alloys nearby for the car. I know of a guy around the corner breaking a fiat coupe, so might ask for his alloys.

Coupe alloys are generally a bit too big for the Bravos, though they will fit.

If you're going for the "quality" vibe rather than sporty on your 1.2 you could see if CFREITAS still has available these 15" alloys swapped from their Marea 2 litre HLX...

Never seen that combination of car and wheel before but I'd quite like to...

You could consider these... 14" factory / catalogue for the Mk1 Bravas/Bravos. I've got some for my winter driving. Great with 185/60 14 tyres. You'd need some longish wheelbolts too (supplied with wheels?).

A few scuffs and scrapes that could be tidied, you'd have to sort out a courier.

I quite like those ones, They look nice. I saw some earlier that I also quite liked, What do you think of these?

Those wheels are 13" cinq sporting alloys so no good for you, but if you like them you may somewhere find 14" ones the same design for the Tipo or Tempra.

Again I haven't yet seen them on a Bravo / Brava, only a Punto, but I do like them myself.

Just any alloys would do me. As long as they're fiat ones. I'd rather some bravo one's to be honest. :) and ah, I've never ever seen a tipo with them alloys. Only an Uno, Tempra and Cinq.
