500 My cappuccino beige 500

Introduction

I know this is not the most popular colour, but it was the only one for me.
Changed the seats to brown & ivory leather, added a few embellishments and it is almost perfect. The only thing missing is the 0.9 turbo engine - could only find this colour in a 1.2 Pop.
Still love my 500 though.
By "better trim" do you mean a different colour?

Nah, he means higher specification, e.g. Lounge.

However, as it looks like you've got leather, air conditioning and blue and me it is much better specified than the Pop is as standard here in the UK. Nice set of alloys and it would be just about sorted in my opinion.

I initially did want the Lounge - but really hate the glass roof. The sun blind provided struggles with the Australian sun & the cabin can become quite hot.

I did however want the 0.9 twinair that only comes with the Lounge here.

To get the colour I wanted without the glass roof, the 1.2 Pop was the only option.

I agree that that alloys would definitely improve the look - also thinking the chrome bumpers.

I find even the weak english sun can heat your head in the summer:D i don't think i could take the aussie sun on the glass roof

Very nice. Pity about the 0.9, we are a bit restricted for choice in this country.

It's subjective of course but to my mind minimum chrome suits that colour. However, you've already got the bonnet spear so why not? Bumpers, mirror caps, washer nozzle caps... OK maybe not the latter.

As already pointed out by better trim I meant "better trim" if I'd meant a different colour then I'd have said that.....

Brown and cream colours are very popular at the moment, for example my brother has recently painted one of his vans in a similar colour combo and it looks amazing and is getting a lot of positive feed back from customers ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1450858450.554505.jpg

Believe it or not, but that was a perfectly innocent question. I have never heard the term "trim" used to describe a different version/model of car. Clearly, other people have heard it and managed to explain it to me in a less narky fashion. So yes, you're right, it is a shame I couldn't have got it in a "better trim."

I am pretty happy with how it is looking but thought the bumpers and alloys might look pretty good - definitely not a fan of the chrome mirrors though.

I have heard it referred to here as "level of trim" - all depends where you come from (and how old you are) I guess:D. This is an international coming-together so occasional misunderstandings due to differing terminology are to be expected. Even an ex-pat like me has trouble keeping up with the Brit's lingo from time to time:confused:.

Oh, I love the chrome mirrors - first thing I changed, but then my car's black and chrome suits it well.

My partner's Pop had the older classic-style wheel-caps with the chrome centres which don't look as cheap as the now-standard silver ones. Unfortunately we had to take them off as they're magnets for thieves and the white car now has a set of black and red spoky sort of covers for the duration. They look quite sporty and for $45 change the character of the car completely. Makes me think a dark-coloured alloy would set yours off well. I look forward to seeing what you do with it.

I think it looks great and I'm a firm believer that less is more particularly with the retro look, I'm not mad about chrome but that's just personal taste, even the wheels are fine as is and are in keeping with the overall look and feel.

I very nearly ordered my Renault in bronze with the intent of doing something like Andy's posted, brown and beige is a neat combo, although it will 'date'.

As to the 500, I'd wrap the roof white, take off the wheel covers and fit baby moon hub caps. Alloys will kind of ruin the retro look IMO.

UFI's a Sport with no chrome and black alloy wheels, he used to turn heads where ever he went. Since I fitted my 'high mpg/ more fun' steelies and plastic covers, no body looks twice. Which is good and bad, but the right wheels can really dress up a 500.

Those seats are just lovely . I have this colour too, He's called Biscuit ?
