Hi there.

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Stephen and this is my recently bought Uno Mia. Its my first Fiat Uno, but I have driven an Uno FIRE before, which belongs to my sister. Thats when I started liking the car.

How long do Unos last? Is it a good car?

Hi Stephen,Congrats on buying an UNO and welcome to the fiat club.I myself just bought an Uno 1.7D in March and its done 1,49,000kms and still runs like a dream. However no one can predict how long your car will last.It depends on how the car was used/maintained,the type of environment it was in,driving style etc etc.

But I must say it is a vey good sturdy car as one of my friend's owned one for about 15 yrs before he sold it and bought a punto.Just do the regular oil changes and get things fixed before the repair gets more expensive.

Could you give us some more info about your car ? mileage, engine, age etc.and maybe upload some pics as well.Im sure there are more experienced owners on this forum who could help you better.

Tchau.

Hi there Claymas

So nice to actually receive a reply. I posted a thread some time back about the Air Filter Box, but it received no attention, but thats in the past now.

Thanks for the interest.

I have to post more than 5 threads before I can attach the images? But if you click on my profile and check the photo gallery, there are a few photos of my car(y)

It drives well, but I'm currently experiencing a few idling, carb and timing issues.

The car was released between 2000 to 2004 I believe, but I can't seem to find the correct Ignition Timing figure. The manual in the car says 3deg +-825rpm. A mechanic I know has a workshop manual that says 2 deg, and the Haynes Manual says 5deg. I don't know which one to follow. Its currently on 3deg, but I believe I'm experiencing some engine "pinging".

Replaced a broken Vacuum Advance with a genuine Magnetti Marelli part, and replaced the carburettor base as there was an air leak there.

Car driving much better now, but just pinging, and idle varying as well as a "rattling" noise at gearbox area when Idle, especially with AC on (Lights), but when clutch is depressed it disappears.

Otherwise all good, looking forward to completely solving these issues.

What do you drive?, tell me about yourself if you will:)

Hello and welcome! Nice to see some Unos around here.
About the timing issues, check for the brazilian type Unos. Since you saied it was made in 2003, i assume its the same as theirs. And as your weather is probably very close to the brazilian weather and such, i think it'll work.

Not sure if i was very helpful, but i tried :D

Also, Unos tend to last a lot. At least here in Portugal they do. (y)
