Introduction

Just to keep things "Proper" you've already met him but here we go again...

Plenty to do to this one - had a flat tyre this morning so even more now!

First, well second order of business new heater tap!

Then remove the steering wheel somehow as another forum member wants it and I'm not mad keen on the look of it though it is lovely to hold and drive.

Body work is a bit scruffy in places but this was bought as a winter hack so condition wasn't important.

Not a massive amount of miles on the clock but does tend to over rev sometimes - I bought a new stepper motor but the connector is wrong:

Luton only has three wires on the block!

Been really busy with the house/dashing about with Fizzle etc to get on with it properly but will do as the weather and lighter nights are coming, and a car port at the new place!

Funnily enough Luton Lulo has bags of character and charm compared to the virtually immaculate Jay Jay, I guess a hard life does that to a panda:rolleyes:

if the idle is wandering it can be due to a scratchy throttle position sensor, a faulty water temperature sensor (the one on the intake manifold, near the coil packs), the intake air temperature sensor being faulty (built onto the throttle body somewhere.. will be a 2 wire plug) and my all time favourite.. a vacuum fault, be it the manifold absolute pressure sensor or an actual vacuum leak.

i'll look forward to seeing it.. ;)

oh and dont forget the lambda sensor.. it could be that too if its cold or choked up

if you can show me a picture of the throttle body.. i'll see if i have one that will fit.. or i can take bits off.

I'll certainly bring him round soon John, I have a delivery of parts to make at Freddy's next week just as soon as I know my rota.

This Panda has turned out to be in good nick underneath, much better than poor old Fizzle.

Well as things turned out Fizzle has become a parts car for the parts car:confused:

I spent a couple of hours swapping Fizzles heater matrix into Blackie.

Only for it not to work.

And for water to rain down from the engine area and no where near I'd touched.

I honestly don't know why I bother, not only do computers hate me but so do pandas.

panda1408 swapsies for the white one when it's ready!

Oh I did a video of the leaking but can't upload it :bang:

Thanks Panda Panda, I've now gone from a position where I could not find a suitable Panda to having a choice of three! All thanks to this forum (non of them seem to be advertised anywhere else) :) Did you manage to sort out the over revving?

Yes that got sorted, runs very well and will happily cruise at motorway speeds!

It seems that way Kolza, glad to hear I've been granted access to them!

Sounds like Lulo/Luton is definitely in the running then Panda Panda, Drop me a line and when we can arrange it I'll pop over and have a look.

The Black CLX has hopped over the Pennines to greater Manchester courtesy of a pre-booked mot in Failsworth, Phiz has taken ownership with Jenny and hopefully will be taking them on some awesome adventures!

I always felt a bit sorry for LULO as he was overshadowed by the more glamorous
restoration of the Colour, the orange 4x4, the Selecta, the Y10 all offering a dash of quirky charm, all with a party trick, whilst he sat in the background waiting for a bit of attention or even a wash. He did get the advisory sorted and a replacement heater matrix from Fizzle and panda1408's seal of approval but I don't think (to my shame) I ever ran a wet brush over him!

I did forget how good he is to drive though, really good solid little car, with a bit of fettling and even a polish he'll do his new owners proud.

John, I'm glad LULO was sold within the forum, especialy that Phiz is perfect buyer/new owner for him. Phiz needs/ request is exacly what Lulo can give back to him and Jenny. High mpg vs. low maintance costs, perfect match up.
There is no other forum member out there who can talk about pandas with such a 'touch' of filling- you got them deep in your blood mate!

Hi John, I'll carry the torch on this one from here :) Starting off with getting Lulo back on the road then gradually prepping up for the trip. I'm guessing I'll be on here a lot (need to get a new camera so I can update with pictures) and as I mentioned there might even be talk of working on a second Panda!
