Panda 2012+ Löki the Panda Cross TwinAir

Introduction

Meet Löki, the First Panda Cross TwinAir in Scotland.

We chose to buy our Fiat from a Dealer in Dundee. Not just because he is a family friend but due to the fact that he & his family have loved their many Fiats over the years, and to us, he is Simon, Mr Fiat(y)
So many thanks to him and AC Fiat Dundee.

So we had a wee scoot about a country park in Dundee, where we came across a Giant. It was as though it had been waiting there for many years just for this moment, The Blessing of Löki, the Red Fiat Panda Cross,
Löki is the Norse Giant/God of Trickery & Mischief. Apparently very pleasing to the eye, intelligent and a shape shifter.
A fitting name for any Cross; a fine & unique looking car that is full of modern technology and has the ability to change from a cute wee city panda to a Giant beating 4x4, a Giant itself!
This Löki has been blessed to defeat; Frost, Flood, Snow, Mud, Steep Hills, Rusty Dusters, Nissan Pukes, Cold Büms & Hopefully Time!

Then it was time to head for home and introduce Lõki to the local volcano.

Löki's reply; Aye that'll be shining bright! Take a hike on your bike!

Lõki now lives in a city built on 7 hills, plenty of cobbled streets but even more pot holes, and, if it was Eden, parking spaces just for him & his Panda relatives.

We have both been loving our first few days living with a TwinAir engine but even more so because its inside the new Fiat Panda Cross. WELL DONE FIAT!!!

No problem dude. Was the wait worth it? Told u it wouldn't stay clean long

Nice motor Bundes - looks good in red, just give those gritters a wide berth;)
A good Christmas pressie - enjoy. Counting the days for mine.

We have effectively been waiting for this new TwinAir Panda Cross since before last Christmas & we are so glad we waited. In this time, We were very close to going for a TwinAir Panda Trekking and at another point a Panda 4x4 but something made us wait for the Cross launch details before we made any decision.
Over the past year of waiting there has been ups and downs. Waiting for Fiat to release the official pictures just days before the Geneva motor show was so exciting. Seeing the Cross launch price was a set back. Keeping a keen eye on the available discounts via the Fiat Privilege Purchase Scheme has been interesting, especially thrilling when we opened the brand new quarter's .pdf and saw the discount has increased again, to £3250, the Quarter the Cross became orderable. Then having the gutz to actually go ahead and order our very first brand new car. The biggest negative for us during this waiting period was the day my deposit car, an Alfa 159 1.9, chewed its gearbox good & proper. A couple of grand gone in a matter of seconds.
The waiting for our Panda Cross after ordering was the easy part, the time flew in due to the Cross, Panda & Fiat chat on here. The whole experience has been an educational and I have already been able to share this and help others to a great deal.

With regards to avoiding gritters; I forgot to include them in Loki's blessing, so the only solution now is to always keep our Cross in front of the plows and nasty paint chipping gritters. Easy for any unstoppable 4x4 Panda.
Bring on the Snow this Festive/Holiday period.

Merry Christmas to all Fiats out there,
Young & Old,
Bright & Bold,
Loved & even the Unsold

And to their owners; Have a good one!

Looks lovely in red. My 2017 is 'sweet candy beige' - I believe that colour is now discontinued. I wasn't sure at first, but it really has grown on me. I certainly don't see many others around :)

I can't post a photo because I have less than 5 posts.

I feel a little like a stranger in this forum as it's nearly a full 5 years since my last post.
I had my reasons to stop posting but I have never failed to keep reading every post within the Panda-2012 thread since. I really should have replied to some posts before now.
Great to see the 127 has a section now.

Löki is still and will remain a part of my family for many a year. Without doubt it's been the best and most enjoyable car I've owned.

Anyhoo... the tyres were the Goodyear M+S All Seasons Vector-4 that came standard with all the early Crosses. I remember when the Fiat website made Summer tyres an optional extra on the configurator. They may have even been on different wheels. I'm sure there was a guy on this forum that ordered a Grey Cross with nearly every extra talked about the tyre and wheel options.
I got 32000 miles on them, changed Front to Back at 20k something.
Now on Full Winter Nokians (WD4) and have a second set of alloys with non M+S tyres on them.

Happy Birthday Loki.
9 year old today & has only just hit 50k miles 2 days ago.
Still warming my arse on cold days, defrosting my screen on the frosty days and still leaving most other cars behind at the lights, everyday!
Here's to the next 9 years.

Hope everyone is keeping well
