Can highly recommend the wiper conversion from dragonman, so much so that I will be getting the sisley one done too.

Re: Roofus

MOT coming up Wednesday so I'm just going round picking off odd issues on Roofus. Found a split on the O/S CV boot and bone dry so probably been there a while so I ordered up a new joint. Finally got round to fitting it today, nice quick job until I had nearly finished re assembling and realised I'd left out the little spacer from the end of the driveshaft. Back to bits and try again..
Then just putting the wheel back on and noticed an alarming amount of play in the virtually new wheel bearing, so apart again and swapped that out for an OKish one from the garage. Then pulled it all apart again to put the stupid spacer back in I'd forgotten again

one corner done....

Re: Roofus

that would be one of my better days!

i know what you mean about "new" wheel bearings with play in them. Talon has a nice new one on the front and you can feel it rocking if you move the wheel while jacked up.

cant understand why...

Re: Roofus

MOT today! Looking out the window I think I may have to change the wiper linkage about now. Pretty confident the wiper will stay on long enough for a few swipes on the ramp but a 40 mile drive to the garage and back in the rain/sleet? I'm not confident

Re: Roofus

Good Luck!

I sorned Sky and Fizzles knackered fuel pump means I'm rocking it in the mk3 4x4 - whose passenger side wiper has given up (linkage has fallen apart) - what is it with Fiats and wipers? Had a Uno that wiper mechanism would just stop and start at random!

Oh and if those grey dash board bits are cluttering up the garage I can give them a home in LVJ!

Awaiting the ministrations of my trusted MOT station:

I was able to get a really good look around the underside while it was on the ramp too and Roof is amazingly clean! the sills are beautiful to behold, like new!

Re: Roofus

Nothing too exciting going on but Roofy has fresh engine and transmission oil, new thermostat (temp gauge does work! who knew!) and coolant and new crank sensor. Still running pretty rough, we'll get there though. New front bearing arrived today too so that'll go on...sometime.

I knew I wasn't crazy, I saw the pic today and thought to myself that it looked almost as low as Grumble.

It looks good and is reversible.

How's the rough running?

Checked the timing?

Apparently that's what was up with the black CLX ie.

Still rough, and rather gutless. Cam timing's fine, can't do much with the ignition timing on the ie. Yet to have a really good go over it though, waiting for more clement weather. (seem to have this camshaft lying about here too...)
