Punto Evo Sporting 135bhp - What Do You Think?

Introduction

Hello FF Community!

Here is my Punto Evo Sporting - 135bhp/207nm. As much as I wish I was an Abarth owner, I'm not (YET), and I couldn't have been due to the insurance issues and budget for the car in the first place. £1600 for Tesco Black Box insurance as a 19 year old was bad enough for me after months of trying to get it down, no luck whatsoever! But my next car will be, without doubt, an Abarth!

Considering I'd never seen a Punto Evo like this before purchasing it, I was pretty impressed/surprised to see one looking like this. The additional extras were all very welcome, and will be listed below for anyone who is interested:

- Sunroof
- Upgraded Sound System (with Boot Sub-Woofer)
- Cruise Control
- Rear Parking Sensors
- Front Middle Arm Rest
- Full Leather interior (Chairs, Dash, Front & Rear Doors)
- Red Brake Callipers
- 17" Five Split-Spoke Alloys
- TomTom SatNav Dashboard Port
- Side Skirts
- Full Sized Spare Wheel

Current Modifications:

  • BMC Panel Filter Upgrade (From Abarth SuperSport)
  • Stubby Silver Aerial
  • Air Box DIY Modifications
  • Team Heko Tinted Wind/Rain Deflectors

Future/Planned Modifications:

  • Possible remap from 135bhp/207nm to 165bhp/280nm
  • Full Custom Exhaust System
  • Possible Lowering by around 40-60mm
  • Windmirror Upgrade To Carbon
  • Possible Front Splitter (Subtle & Stylish, not over the top)
  • Possible Induction Kit
Any other future modifications that you think would be great for this car are welcome for suggestion!

To finish off, I'd love to hear your opinions on the car and whether you think it's a good half way mark for the dream Abarth I was after, which I will get my hands on one day.

Thanks to everyone in advance for any responses and opinions on the first car!

Olly.

These one's look great on the car mate, I'd definitely consider these ones. How much are they for a full set?

Just consider how much it would cost to put some tyres on them too though mate! You're always better trying to save up more to get better tyres if you're on a budget too in my opinion. Good/bad tyre's will make or break the car!

It is £550 for the wheels and tyres. Spoke to the guy at the shop and he managed to fix me up with some better tyres instead of the budget ones, called Mazinni/Mazzinni... C grade in both fuel and wet conditions and 71db. Atm I don't have the cash to buy proper branded tyres, but these Mazinni ones look pretty good and the EU label backs that up. (y)

Forgot to mention the benefit of buying both from this shop is that the wheels will come fitted with the tyres, they will be balanced and all bolts and spacers are provided for free.

shop is alloywheels for reference

Ah well those sound good mate! well as long as they have good reviews and a good reputation it shouldn't matter what the brand is :)

Glad you've got yourself a good deal you'll be happy to fit them to the ride I'm sure. (y)

Ah good stuff, well a full set of wheels and tyres for £550 and all the bolts and spacers is definately a steal, especially a set looking as nice as the one's you've chosen! Good luck with the purchase pal. (y)

Sorry for the late reply mate, looks great, almost as good as mine! ;) (exactly the same almost!) Hope you're looking after it, this appearance is very rare for the sportings, yours is the only other one that I've seen looking like this... EVER!

Great looking car even if I do say so myself ;)

When it comes to my car, I'm also pretty OCD mate so no worries there!

Really sorry to hear that, What kind of damage was caused if you don't mind me asking and how much did the respray cost? was it a full respray or a touch up?

Where are you from mate? I live in rugby and I've never seen one even similar to ours!

Front wing had to be resprayed need to sort above the rear window was 120 for the wing and eggs shells from an oncoming car the shells cut chips all along the side. I'm from coventry mate

Sorry to hear that mate. It's a good price though, seriously good price!

People are just inconsiderate and mindless when it comes to things like this. Atleast you didn't receive any irreversible damage mate. All the best for the future with this beauty!

Olly.
