Punto (Mk2/2b) My Punto MK2B Sport!

Introduction

Here is my Fiat Punto Active Sport Mk2b. It is a 1.2L 8V. Itis my first car so it hasn’t had any major modifications as of yet! But I dohave plans to modify it soon as I gain 1 year’s No Claims Bonus.

It has had 2 brand new gear linkage cables fitted as theysnapped in the first 10 miles that I drove it! (n)

It is also stuck in my drive at the moment as the gear boxhas blown and caused a major oil leak and lead to the clutch beingcontaminated. I am buying a second hand gearbox and a new LUK clutch thisweekend so should hopefully be back on the road early next week! :D

All this and its only done 57000 miles!

- Modifications I have already done:
- A debadged grill.
- A complete Alpine Head Unit that improves the music qualitymassively as it has a 50 watts x 4 amplifier!
- Future Modifications:

- Eibach Sportline 40mm springs
- Some new alloys (not sure on which ones yet so let me knowif theres any good ones for a Punto you know of)

- 4” Sportex Backbox
- Window tints for the back 3 windows

- Removing the door strips.
- Fitting Punto Side Skirts.

Let me know what you think of my car and feel free to giveadvice on future mods etc!

Hi,
Nice punto..
Be careful with gearboxes if from scrap yards sometimes it can take 3 box changes to find
A good one.. been there done that.

Where did you get the sticker from have you got a link..

Seen one on a golf last night... slightly different

It said 'hey dude I nearly had you there..
Paul walker..

you want advice? well the clue is at the start its a 1.2l 8v and its a fiat, not worth modifying!:D itll only break later on;)

you say its had problems already, yep no surprise, again its a fiat(y)

you're welcome:D

I admit it'll never be the best car but im 17 and like it as a first car. The idea is to spice it up a little before until I can be insured on a Leon Cupra R. Soon as I come to sell it i'll put the standard parts back on and sell the custom parts. (y)

Thanks mate! I know, I have been phoning up breakers all day and they only have gearboxes with 60-70k miles which is more than mine and mines already gone. Just bought one on ebay that has only covered 47000 so should be in good condition and when I put it on im gonna replace the seal for a new one to prevent it from happening again.

I just got it off ebay mate, only cost about £3 and just sticks straight on!:D

Yeah i've seen those also and they look good too but i liked the font on this one!

I've seen this punto before somewhere..
Did you buy it off a small garage..manchester

I bought it from my work as I used to be an apprentice at Nissan and we got it in as part exchange. but it does have picadilly fiat reg plates on it???

You may have seen it on here before though, i uploaded a few pics when i first got it...

nice car
mileages mean nothing though if its been fraiped
when gearbox arrives get hold of the first motion shaft sticking out in the bellhousing and waggle it
if it waggles its scrap unless you want to strip down and do a mr wild repair

for the record im not into stickers that bemoan the loss of losers who speed in cars on public roads with out of date tyres poor service record and basically couldn't care less about other road users

:)

I know mate but only going off pictures so my best bet is going for one thats done the least mileage as it hasn't had as much time to be trashed!

They were in the wrong but he wasnt the driver and he didnt deserve to die? so he should be remembered and appreciated for all the achievements he did in his life.
