My first service is due on my fiat 500s 0.9 Twinair.
I have been quoted £250.88 for the service by the dealer where I bought the car new. Do I have to have my first service at a fiat dealership because of the warranty? Does this price sound expensive, as it does to me? Do I have to have a major service or can I have oil change or interim service instead which will cost me much less? All advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi, :)

common question in the 500 section ;)

you are not obliged to have FIAT do the work , but warranty-wise , you want a VAT registered garage, and using FIAT / equivalent parts.

because of the TA unit,
I've taken mine to a FIAT / Alfa specialist, as they are a little cheaper, actually do the work on the service sheet,
AND use Selenia oil - which the TA actuator unit is deigned with,

I hope that helps,

depends on age / mileage,
I would recommend a 1st oil + filter change before 10K miles,

the annual service is more debateable.., 18K miles is the point I believe,
but mine will be having it at 14 months and 14K miles ( oil already done @ 6K = £85 to remove all the debris from the build, and reset ECU)
