Re: Chris's 1994 Panda Colour Resto Mod

SOOO I thought I would update this to keep it alive,

Progress is slow and steady , one of the major things I've managed to sort is the bulkhead covers, I never liked the terrible matting/ sound deadening style one,

So first I made some Card templates that you can see in my last post,

Then make some Fibreboard ones,

Then I cut them out of some aluminium, gave them a paint and added some edging trim to avoid them scratching the paint,

All fitted

Much neater!

Also added a few guages for where the radio was never fitted,

These are tinted so when there off there pretty discreet,

Also sorted the rear beam, I did paint this about 4 years ago but made the mistake of using hammerite and it was pealing off, bearing in mind the cars not been on the road yet!

so it now looks like this

New springs , new shocks , new brake lines , cylinders.... literally everything's new...everything,

Also if you were wondering where the washer jets bottles gone from under the bonnet,

The battery also lives in the boot on the other side,

The cars not far from being done now , once the rears back together its just a case of fitting the driveshafts and brakelines then just a bit of paintwork to sort out before its let out of captivity,

Re: Chris's 1994 Panda Colour Resto Mod

few extra progress pictures of the bulkhead covers

Ive also replaced the tripod joints on the driveshafts as 6 years of them hangning around did'nt do them any good,

While I was there I colour coded the driveshafts, I'm sure the MOT tester will appreciate them lol

Yeah, its only brake line, handbrake cable, unbolt trailing arms and shocks then undo the centre bolt and it drops away.

Re: Chris's 1994 Panda Colour Resto Mod

Hi Chris, do you still have the dimensions, gauge of stainless steel used, bolts etc for your great looking fuel tank straps, or even better do you have a spare set lying around for purchase lol, mine are in a worse state than yours were, like brown onion skins lol.

Great work and attention to detail on your Panda

Re: Chris's 1994 Panda Colour Resto Mod

sooo long overdue update, again..

Cars almost road ready now,

litrally all it needs is the brakes to be bled and the engine to actually run smooth as it runs really rough atm but i just need to spend some time sorting all the vacuum lines out,

few pictures

Replaced the rear trailing arms and bolts too

bought an parcel shelf that doesnt have holes in it from italy.

I've also bought a spoiler from Italy, it came as raw gel coat but with a bit of primer and textured paint it matches really well.

also fitted 25mm spacers to the rear to fill out the rear a bit.

manged to get hold of a 40mm throttle body too!

before and after.

guages all fitted,

I also have a slight clearance issue witht the chassis so I've bought some steel to get it notched vw style, I couldn't possibly raise it up!

and heres a few photos i've taken recently

my instagram is Purple_fiat_94 i update that pretty often compared to every 6 months here

I wish! its a 70mm 45 degree elbow, then i cut a hole in the side and found a pipe fitting that allowed me to push fit the oil breather to the side of it, iv'e cut it with the curve of the pipe so even close up it looks like one piece .
